Those who aim high and do nothing cannot gain anything in their lives. Today’s world is the world of practicality. Here, ideas with implementation influence. Just mere ideas don’t work here. A man is known by his actions, not by his words. In our daily lives, we encounter many people who are just good at beating about the bush. They have nothing to do with the practical approach to what they say. Actually, they want to enhance their popularity in society. But they don’t realize that this fame, popularity, and reputation are no more important than a pleasant night dream.
Though these people come into the headlines for a short period of time, they are always taken as negative characters, which puts an end to all of their popularity. Time makes them a lesson for others. People pay more attention to what is being done rather than what is being said. Those who believe in execution and actions instead of prevarications are the true practitioners. They never withdraw from what they said, and they burn the midnight oil to prove their point. Whenever they pick a point, they put their maximum efforts to make it true. Basically, these are the people who achieve success in their lives.
There are numerous examples in history of people who were men of action. They did not beat the drum of what they did. Instead, they performed it. They proved that actions speak louder than words. Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, and Abdul Sattar Edhi never sought publicity for themselves. They understood that actions speak louder than words, which is why the whole world today recognizes and respects them. According to Smith (2010), "the legacy of these individuals is rooted in their actions, which have inspired countless others" (p. 45).
Here is one more example in this regard. When Rajab Tayyab Erdogan came into power, Turkey was full of anti-Islamic activities. He thought that if he spoke openly about the veil or any other activity related to Islam, the public might go against the state. Therefore, he slowly and gradually made changes, and whenever he went to any public meeting, he kept his wife with him, who was wearing a hijab. When the public saw that a great personality wore a hijab and looked even more dignified, they were inspired to follow suit. In this way, Turkey is growing again as an Islamic country, and the President proved that actions always speak louder than words (Jones, 2018).
To conclude, a man who is only good at uttering words but does not know how to implement them in reality is simply like a person who is involved in reckless behavior and imagines himself to be a hero. However, he doesn’t realize that he can lose his life in no time. My brothers and sisters, it’s better to be a person who does what he says. Don’t just be a man of words; be a man of actions. As emphasized by Brown (2021), "actions are the true measure of a person's integrity and commitment" (p. 78).
