For instance, the film Psycho, directed by him, was considered one of the most terrifying film of its time. Created in 1960, it was a classic and a great horror film for the norms it violated all films. Alfred Hitchcock was for employing a form of psychological suspense in his films, constructing a well- defined viewer experience, it is evidence that, Alfred Hitchcock was highly influential in establishing characterization and sense of characters.

The film tells the story of Marion Crane (Janett Leigh) the main character, who disappears after stealing $5,000 from her employer. Another evidence is that there’s also many references to birds in conversation between characters, such as, when Marion is told by Norman that she “eats like a bird”. Norman also has a collection of birds in his parlour, the main one being an owl and a hawk. The metaphor of birds is represented of the different type of personalities of the characters and dangerous associating with events that are coming up.
