As we try to understand the original sin doctrine, we first begin by taking a look at the first man’s creation, Adam. According to the scripture and other ancient religious doctrines, God’s aim of creating man was to bring out a resemblance of is image, and unique from other creations and it’s from the first man’s rib he created a woman. Adam and Eve were the first human beings to be created and God gave them three original gifts, that is; original holiness, free will, and original justice together with duties and responsibilities in the garden. At this time man held a special place in the creation and as a divine image, the man was made out of flesh, spirit and the soul strongly held by the three gifts. They were put in control of the other living and non-living creatures in the garden and the power to rule over them. This freedom lasted until they fell into the hands of the devil and failed to overcome the temptations and this was the beginning of the first sin of mankind. Below are reasons as to why this origin of sin attributed to freedom abuse.
At first, abuse of freedom began from the moment when Adam and Eve allowed themselves to be tempted by the devil. Despite the freedom God had given them, they were still not satisfied and were curious to know more about the forbidden fruit. Curiosity is one of the human traits which come about with a feeling of dissatisfaction, the urge to know more and greed for power. According to Genesis 2: 16, God commanded man to eat all other fruits in all the trees in the garden except for the two trees at the middle, the trees of knowledge. From this, it’s clear that man did not have to sweat to have food, and everything was available. Out of curiosity, Satan was able to convince them to eat the forbidden fruits and out of their disobedience they were denied the freedom and thrown out of the garden. Finally, the man came to know evil and hence losing the original holiness and justice and lived the rest of his life in the evil garden and in the state of harmony and privileges was torn apart marking the beginning of devastating consequences.
Second, according to the Christian doctrine by St. Augustine, he argues that human beings are born sinful, that is; they are born with the urge of doing bad things, disobedience, envy and weak faith in Christianity. And due to this, their bodies are highly prone to sinning and as Paul addresses the Romans, He advised them not to give room to the mortal deception and allow sin reign their entire body in that, “… you become attentive to its lusts. Sin should not take control over you since you live by grace and freedom, and not under any regulation.” Romans 6:12, 14. The Adam and Eve sin, reign in every generation and it is not just an inherited spiritual defect in the nature of human beings but also a fault of condemnation. And it is this same sin that leads man into the evil world.
Third, Christians argue that the original sin is a clear explanation of all forms of evil in the world, yet God had created it so perfectly and also why people should seek cleansing from God to save their souls. Humans live in the limit of feasibility reason being that the many things that lie in their power are not for their own good but for the good of others and due to special circumstances. The man performs all forms of work and pleasures themselves lawful for the sake of their own wellbeing and that of others and in this, we see a limiting consideration in the phrase, "the good of our brother." Very few apply this principle while others take advantage of it, in such that their heart hearts are filled with envy and jealous like in the case of Cain and Abel.
Fourth: After being expelled from the garden, the man was commanded to multiply and fill the earth and this was through sex and childbirth that the generation. God gave them the freedom of sex with one main agenda, that is multiplicity but out of human curiosity, the sin of fornication evolved. Fornication takes away the body of Christ from human beings as it is stated in the book of Ephesians 5:30 states that, “Christ’s body is the main body and our bodies are part of it therefore essential to Him as they are to us." Many abuse the sexual freedom with the argument that meat w created for the belly and vice versa and hence there is no harm in consuming whatever feels good for the stomach. But the stomach and its food shall come to pass and the body will transit from the physical body to spiritual body hence the analogy fails in the case of fornication.
Lastly: Humans have misinterpreted their freedom of power or dominion over the rest of God’s creation and taken the advantage to ruin it. The reason as to why God gave them the freedom to rule over these creations was to ensure he extends his care to them through humans. Human beings have turned out their responsibilities into destruction towards the living and non-living things on earth. This has come as a result of human greed for wealth and more power over the other human beings. Human beings also things that obedience is a form of slavery and the only to get out of this kind of slavery is through working their way out by using extensively, Gods creation to create their own comfort. Human beings have forgotten the fact that comfort is not unto man and wealth comes as a blessing from God.
Ways in which corruption attribute to the fall of mankind
Human nature can only be ascertained by use of the scripture epithets applied to him and not any other better way. Man is fully portrayed by the Christ words in the book of John 3:6 that, “out of flesh anther flesh is born,” and therefore born a miserable creature. It is assumed that the word flesh applies only to the sensual parts of the soul and not the bigger part, therefore, Christ sees it necessary for man to be born again, not in flesh and blood but in spirit through renewal and mind reform. Paul in the book of Ephesians 4:23 describe mankind as corrupt and deceitful in nature and therefore call upon people to get a spiritual renewal through baptism. He draws a picture of mankind showing how each part is attributed to corruption and perversion by giving an example of the Gentiles. They walk in mental vanity, and their mere understanding hindering them from God's life due to their ignorance and blinded hearts. Jesus, as he condemned the unfair selling in the temple, describes corruption as kind of evil that originates from greed and ignorance, which are among the first sins of man-fall. Corruption began with eve being used by the devil to bring downfall to the man. Up-to-date, it has become a social phenomenon, where everyone wants to use the easiest means of getting what they want or for their own self-interest minding less the fate of others.
Redemption means paying for the release from the captivity of sin. Paul's word of advice to the Romans who had lived in the slavery of evil, He says, “thanks be to God, that you were once slaves of sin but have obeyed from your heart and committed yourselves to the teachings and have become righteous again.” Redemption comes from the Christ act of shedding his blood on the cross. In his teachings to Galatians, Corinthians, Romans, and the rest, Paul says that redemption can be attained through baptism in Christ. Once baptized, one receives spiritual blessings, salvation and is free from the condemnation that is according to Romans 8:1, Second Timothy 2:10 and Ephesians 1:3. Those who repent and get saved and practiced good deeds will dwell in the lord as the sinners burn in hell (Mathew 25:31-46.
Corruption is one of the major social-economic problems affecting the developing third-world countries and is a habit prone to those in positions. Many suffer from this phenomenon especially those who finish school with good papers and high expectations of getting a job fairly. For a better public life, the society requires tough and practical means of eradicating and preventing corruption and they include:
A periodic increase in salary for those in government positions especially those with low wages. This will help lower the greed as some get into corruption due to low wages and hence the need to increase their income.
A tough punishment for those involved in corruption activities such as sucking the person involved from his/her job, strict judicial trials and fair charges.
Burn cash payments in these offices and allow only online transactions through banks and providing a statement for every transaction in that the money flow can be easily monitored and all transactions preserved.
CCTV Cameras installed in all government offices, which will keep a watch on the activities taking place in the government offices
