When I was in 9th grade, I joined the 6-day corps camp. It's a young wing aimed for cadets with more or less military experience. It was truly an unforgettable trip. Therefore in my essay I want to share this experience. I am very excited about this camp because my brother, who is an elder in my school, also attends this camp. He used to tell me funny stories about it. Some of my friends didn't go because they were afraid to be away from their families. But I feel like you should always be ready for such adventures.
We had a super strict instructor whistling very loudly at 5am. Waking up so early on a cold December morning, I must say we deserved a price for it. We were ordered to run four laps, the equivalent of a field mile. If we were even one minute late, we had to run two more laps as a penalty. The struggle is real. We had walking exercises all day. So it's mainly a walking competition between Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. After all those sleepless nights, I'm so glad Girl Scouts won. This victory was achieved because each member of our scouting team worked so hard on their walking skills. Balancing hand movements, speed, and alignment is the hardest task.
That's not the only thing in the camp. There are also many other activities. We had different activities every day. My favorite is probably paragliding and mountain climbing. I have been paragliding about 3 times. Well, you might have realized that I like extreme sports. I am always for such things. And that's a very important part of my personality. That's not the hardest part. You know, in addition to walking for almost 8 hours a day.
The scariest part was our housework. Honestly, I'm starting to be grateful to my family for working hard all day. It is not as easy as it sounds. Not to mention, we had to do everything ourselves. From dishes to laundry, we've done it all. We took a 20-minute break between training sessions to get ready, eat meals, and do all the housework. That's a big deal.
This camp has enriched my good habits. In addition, I also pay more attention to what is happening in my environment. The establishment of this camp has given me great learning experiences. I believe it has given me confidence and patience. At first, I didn't realize how important it was. But over time, the changes became more pronounced. Finally, in order not to miss the infinite memories I made there, which still hold a huge part of my heart.
