The theory of social learning has a fundamental role in our daily life and can also affect us in a positive or negative way that determines the way we learn socially is several of its factors and the most important of which is the environment surrounding us, because it affects us greatly or completely. Moreover, the scientist Albert Pandora has identified the most important theories related to social learning are: cognitive learning, behavioral learning and some of them have been able to identify the four most important factors for social learning which are: our environment, our knowledge, cognition or awareness and finally motivation to do anything.
The theory of social learning focuses on three basic points and these points help to gain social learning. Firstly the power of observation of events or attitudes. Secondly the mental simulation that is between the person and himself when he repeats and analyzes the situation he saw. thirdly the expected behavior after the situation may change some People behave and others do not, and change the behavior after any situation differs from one person to another and depends on the effect of the position. Moreover, we're going to mention each point in details. First point is the power of observation of events or attitudes. When the scientist Albert Pandora illustrated his experience of social learning, which included the Bobo doll and some children of different ages and some adults, and in the first experiment some children saw an adult beating the Bobo doll very violently and then the children had the opportunity to play from the same doll But all the children treated the doll violently and attack and cruelty because they were affected by the treatment of the adult with the doll by them through observation. In the second experiment, the children did not see the adult playing with the bobo doll violently, and when they had the opportunity to play with the doll they were less aggressive and some of them played with the doll properly because they did not notice any act of aggression before. So, we conclude that children learn from what they are seeing, whether it is negative or positive. So as adults, we must pay attention to every what we do in front of children because they will apply the act in a similar situation or any situation they will face in their lives.
The second point is the mental states of learning. Observing the behaviors of others is not always enough to learn so mind and think their role is also essential in social learning, because the mind may tell you if you learned a particular behavior before or have previous experience related to what you learn, and the perception or awareness are the ones that help to accept learning the new behavior. Furthermore, the third point is behavior doesn't always change when you learn. Behavior does not always change when learning, an example when teaching a child how to draw and then he starts drawing this means his behavior changed directly, but sometimes we may learn many behaviors but we don't apply them in our life’s.
Social learning affects us very much in our daily lives and the simplest realistic examples is in our university life when a late student comes to the lecture and we note that the lecturer put the absence mark for her in the record of attendance we learn directly from the situation that we should be aware of the time and attendance. Also in our university life, we notice that there is a student that study really hard and she always participate and answers the questions and then she gets extra grades or points, so we learn to study hard to get extra grades. The last and most important example is when a student cheats in the exam and gets exposed to legal accountable and expelled from the university we learn to abide by the laws well.
