Have you ever been in fear? American and many other countries have been in fear because of the thought of nuclear weapons being created in Iran. People have been in fear long enough. It is time for citizens to take action and stop these rumors of nuclear weapons for good. Iran is a threat to many countries, including the United States, and the Iran deal could be a way to possibly lower this threat, stop the possibility of a nuclear war, and become a new beginning for Iran.
To begin, the Iran deal could lower the threat for surrounding countries and America. According to the Huffington Post, “Prominent sectors of U.S. power and opinion share the stand of the two regional allies and so are in a state of virtual hysteria over ‘The Iranian Threat.’ Sober commentary in the United States, pretty much across the spectrum, declares that country to supporters of the agreement here are wary, given the exceptional gravity of that threat” (Huffington Post, 2023). In this quote, the author states that Iran is a real threat. It also highlights how supporters are aware of the threat, and they are concerned. Citizens should not sit in fear when we have the opportunity to stop Iran.
Furthermore, by proceeding with the Iran Deal, we can prevent a nuclear war. As noted by the Huffington Post, “Lost in this debate is whether the deal could itself cause a war. To be sure, war could erupt if Iran cheats. That is a real possibility, given Iran’s history of nuclear mendacity. But Iran may actually abide by the deal” (Huffington Post, 2023). This means that a nuclear war could be in the near future if we don’t do anything to stop Iran. They do acknowledge that the deal could be the reason for the nuclear war, but there is a higher possibility that Iran would abide. People should take that risk because if a change is not made now and Iran gets to keep their nuclear substances, a nuclear war will be in the near future.
Additionally, the deal could foster greater diplomatic relations. Creating a diplomatic channel could also serve as a framework for resolving other regional conflicts in a peaceful manner. This would not only reduce immediate threats but also contribute to long-term global stability.
Lastly, Americans could build a new beginning with Iran. NBC News states, “Maybe Iran and America’s government don’t like each other but Iranian people love American products... ‘This could be a new beginning for both of us’” (NBC News, 2023). This statement shows that America and Iran don’t necessarily get along, but they do trade with each other. This connects back to the Iran Deal because if nuclear threats are stopped by Iran, U.S. citizens and government could make amends with the Iranians. This could start a new and improved beginning for both Iran and America.
In conclusion, the Iran deal has both positive and negative outcomes. Some of the positives are forming new allies, stopping nuclear wars, and lowering the threat that Iran holds. These pros substantially outweigh the negatives, which is why the Iran deal would have a positive impact on Americans. Moreover, by engaging diplomatically with Iran, there is a potential to foster a more peaceful and cooperative international community.
