Bjork is an Icelandic singer and songwriter, got to fame through a record which was published on a radio station that connected her to a record label that made her famous at age 11. Despite the numerous issues she had while growing up she flipped around what could have stopped her and developed a style which spanned through varieties of music, like classical, pop and so on. This made her unique in her singing style.
The talented singer was born to Guðmundur on 21st of November, 1965 in Reykjavík, Iceland. She is 52 years old and Icelandic by ethnicity. Bjork Guðmundsdóttir first name means 'birch-tree' in Iceland, and pronounced as 'Beyerk'. People wrongly pronounced it as 'Bee-york' while her other name means patronymic. Although not much was revealed about her childhood but she attended an elementary school where she learnt the Piano at a tender age. Bjork’s mother (Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir) is an activist who fought in opposition to the progress of iceland’s karahnjukar Hydropower plant and her father is a union leader and an electrician. They both divorced as at the time of Bjork’s birth. Afterwards, Hildur got married to a second husband (Sævar Árnason) who was a past guitarist in a band called Pops. Their union led to a structured musical background for Bjork. She has a zodiac sign called scorpio.

Björk created a band named “the Sugarcubes” in 1986 before striving on her own for triumphant solo career in 1993. While in band, she got married to Thor Eldon the father of Sindri, although, they are separated now. She's known for her albums like Debut, Post, Vespertine, Medúlla, Volta and Biophilia, and some hits like "I've Seen It All, " "Human Behaviour" & "Big Time Sensuality. " Though many people wanted to collaborate with Björk at the 1994 Brit Awards after the success of 'Debut', She requested only one (PJ Harvey). They both collaborated on a bare cover of The Rolling Stones' '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
'In 2000, Björk came back in the dangerous film “Dancer in the Dark”, which she carried out well. She won prizes for best actress and was nominated at the Cannes Film Festival.
