I was born in central Africa(Cameroon) in a small city called Bamenda a very rough and challenging community, an environment which the leaders are corrupt, fighting between the francophone and the Anglophone to stay independently, poor educational system, violent, and stealing etc. Apart from all these problems I still love my country. I am the youngest of my seven siblings, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers. Before I was 5 years old four of them had already moved out of the house to other cities where they can get a good education and a better job to sustain our family.
The remaining three of us had to take care of our parents, especially my dad since he was old; we had to go to the farm with our mom to work and to cultivate food to eat and to sell some for our primary school fees and other important necessity. We were living a happy life, we had food, water, shelter, and our family members use to come visit us. Everything really changes in 2008 when my mom deceased it was very tough and challenging at that period, but after a couple months we get away with it and get stronger.
We continued to take care of our dad and never giving up on our self, especially me because I had a dream, a dream to one day come to America, a dream to fly across the Atlantic ocean, a dream to become a civil engineer, and a dream to become a soccer player. I didn’t know about my brothers but I knew I had a dream. In 2015 god came and visited us with a good news, our mom sister who has been living in the U.S.A adopted me and one of my brother to come live with her in the state, which she’s currently our mom.
Since we moved to the U.S our life has really changed because we love the society, the people and their kindness, the food and the culture etc. Even though we had a little misunderstanding and obstacles during the time we arrived here, such as the climate, weather, and the language we rapidly adapted to it, get used to it and now we ain’t got no problem. I have learned to be stronger in any situation, learn to always continue my education no matter what circumstances I’m going through, love my family and everyone around me and to respect elders as my dad always told me, and finally I have learned to always work hard and know it shall surely come to my benefits. All things are what really shaped me to become what I’m today.
