Coding is the procedure of assigning a code to something for the intentions and use of identification or classification whereas, computer science is the examination and experimentation that for the foundation for the design and use of computers. History of Computer Science It all began with the development of the Abacus between 2700-2300. It was the first known tool used for computing, assisting people with counting. This was the earliest known simplest computing system, but the earliest known complex computing system was the Antikythera mechanism, which dates back to 87 B.C. This system was used to calculate astronomical positions and aid with the navigation through seas.

Computing science advanced yet again in 1837 when Ada Lovelace wrote the earliest computer algorithm along with Charles Babbage who invented the concept of the first programmable computer. Babbage constructed the earliest mechanical computer which was constructed much like the modern computer. He named his mechanical computer the “Analytical Engine” and it is known to be the first representations of what is now the modern computer. Ada Lovelace assisted Charles Baggage with his Analytical Machine who is known to be the first computer programmer and was perceived as a mathematical genius. She wrote the earliest algorithm to run on any machine which was used to compute Bernoulli numbers.

Although, modern-computing all began with Alan Turing's conception of the Turing machine. The Turing machine is a mathematical design of computation that represents an abstract computer, which manipulates symbols on a strip of tape according to a table of rules. The tape is separated into squares, each square having a single symbol, working both as the vehicle for input and output as a working memory for storing results of standard actions of the computation.

Modern computing-machines also began with the invention of the transistor. The transistor is the essential building block of modern computerized devices. It is what made current modern computing possible. It is a semiconductor device used to increase or change electronic signals and power. Computer technology was limited to government and military use until decades later academic institutions came online allowing Steve Wozniak an American inventor, electronics engineer, programmer, philanthropist and technology entrepreneur to build the circuit board for Apple 1, making home computing possible. Tim Berners-Lee, an English engineer and computer scientist also invented the World Wide Web and Marc Andreessen, an American entrepreneur, investor and software engineer built a browser.
