Digital Data Service: Digital Data Service (DDS) offers you a dedicated link between two or more sites. The connection is permanent and available at all times. DDS handles data, voice and video at a variety of speeds. With DDS, you may:Improve efficiency through reduction in delays, errors and connection times.
Reduce expenditures by purchasing only as much bandwidth as you need, reducing modem expenses and consolidating communications to cut maintenance costs. Features & Benefits:Offers DDS to the end-user customers with service increments below 64 kbps - allows you to purchase only the bandwidth you need.
Eliminates the need for modems (uses channel service unit/data service unit - CSU/DSU - instead) - reduces modem expenses.Offers the reliability and quality of digital transmission - saves time by eliminating delays and reducing errors caused by distortion common to analog transmissions.Circuit may be used for data, voice and video - consolidates communications over a single circuit, reducing maintenance costs. Available at all times because the connection is dedicated - improves efficiency by eliminating delays and connection times.
Digital Data Service (DDS) is a dedicated link between two or more sites and offers flexibility in bandwidth. It can accommodate a wide variety of voice, data, video and interactive applications. Any service provider and end-user customer with a need for low speed, high accuracy and guaranteed availability will benefit from DDS.A Digital Data Access channel is a channel for a duplex four-wire transmission of 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 56 or 64 Kbps. You select the actual bit rate by choosing which protocol combination is used. The channel provides synchronous service with timing provided through your facilities to your end-user customer in the received bit stream.
Digital transmission provides more accurate signals than analog, primarily because of signal regeneration. Data Amplification provides for data transmission when your end-user customer is located beyond the normal range of 42-decibel (dB) loss for digital data service (56.0 kbps and 64.0 kbps). The dB loss is determined by the route, length and gauge of the cable from the last signaling point (usually the switching office) to your end-user customer's premises.Optional DDS features and functions include Central Office Bridging, Secondary Channel and Data Amplification.
Business Applications:Digital Data Service (DDS) can be used for transmission of small to medium volumes of voice and data.DDS can link multiple sites for frequent low-speed transmission of data, such as, payroll and accounting, shipping, reservations and inventory control information.DDS can be used to access a frame relay network.DDS is ideal for remote monitoring of systems for security purposes.
