Introduction

Fashion, it's what a lot of people think about when they get up in the morning. Most people base their sense of fashion on their style. To truly understand fashion, it is important to know how fashion has changed over time, different color combinations for all year round, and different styles for each person's personality.

Account of How Fashion Changed

Over the past century, ladies' fashion has changed and is growing rapidly. From Edwardian boots to stilettos, fashion has very much changed. The “ acceptable” fashion for women in 1900-1920ish was very restricted. In 1900, the shortest skirt that a female could wear was ankle length. At that time, the hourglass figure was in. It had a silhouette with a thicker waist, flatter bust, and narrower hips. At the end of the decade, the most fashionable skirt still brushed the floor, but was still closer to the ankle. In a matter of years, however, things started to change. By 1920, women replaced strict and long skirts with shorter dresses and even trousers. During this time, corsets lost their place in many people's wardrobes. Fashion influencers like Coco Chanel paved the way for this. This really changed fashion in that time. People called these years the “Roaring 20’s”. Many women in this time were flapper girls. These girls were called this for the dance that they did. A fashionable flapper had short sleek hair, a shorter than average shapeless shift dress, and wore make up and applied it in public, and embraced the spirit of a rebel who danced the night away in the Jazz Ages. Many women in all classes found sophistication in flapper dresses.

Colors can do more than catch someone’s eye, or compliment your skin tone, but they can also go great with the weather or season. With the perfect color combination, you can lighten up someone's day, or everyone around you. Nothing says spring more than pastels. Pale blue and a soft pink may sound subtle, but when someone wears it the right way, it can be as catching as a bright pop of color. A way to style this is wearing a flowy white blouse, light blue jeans, and light pink pumps or pink stilettos. Another great combination is pink and grey. This combination would be amazing in the winter. A great way to rock this combination is with a dark grey pair of jeans with a soft pink top and white block heels. Other than the winter, this outfit works all year round. The last great combination is cobalt blue and turquoise. These colors speak power and there is no need to break it up with a neutral color unless it is desired. A regal blue dress with a turquoise block heel with a statement necklace is a great outfit for any occasion.

The Diversity in Fashion

Many different people have many different styles, from a skater, to a girly girl, to a casual look to a sporty look, styles vary. For a skater look, use black and burgundy and white s a color pallet to set the mood. Pair an oversized tee with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans or distressed skinny jeans, beach waves for your hair and/or a beanie, Vans, and of course, your board. For a girly look, pair a pastel pink top with a white miniskirt, and gold accessories and gold flats or block heels. For a casual look, go for a pair of black jeans, a solid color top, a jean jacket, and a pair of Vans. For a more sporty look, try a white tank top, black leggings, a black and white flannel to tie around your waist, black or white Converse or Vans high tops, and a baseball cap.

Conclusion

From different styles to color combinations to how it was a century ago, fashion can be complicated, but is the end of the day, it brings out a person's inner self and can communicate to people how someone feels without saying a word. Although its changed over the years, fashion has actually stayed the same in the fact of the happiness that it can bring to people.
