In the present days, the population is growing rapidly, and to meet the requirements of this increasing population, multi-storied buildings with rapid construction are preferred. The main focus of this essay is to analyze a G+13 storied residential building. The precast structural system is considered in this present work for rapid construction. The entire building consists of precast load-bearing members, walls, and slabs using ETABS. ETABS is a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, special-purpose analysis and design program developed specifically for building systems. ETABS features an intuitive and powerful graphical interface coupled with unmatched modeling, analytical, design, and detailing procedures, all integrated using a common database.
'Extended Three Dimensional Analysis of Building Systems' (ETABS) is commonly used to analyze skyscrapers, parking garages, steel and concrete structures, low and high-rise buildings, and portal frame structures. It was even used to create the mathematical model of the Burj Khalifa, designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill LLP (SOM) (Smith & Coull, 1991). The input, output, and numerical solution techniques of ETABS are specifically designed to take advantage of the unique physical and numerical characteristics associated with building-type structures. With ETABS, we can analyze and design any shape of R.C.C buildings like rectangular, T, C, L, and I-shape. This project primarily emphasizes the structural behavior of the multi-storey building for different plan configurations. Modeling of multi-storey R.C.C. framed buildings is conducted on the ETABS software for analysis. Post-analysis of the structure, maximum shear forces, bending moments, and maximum storey displacement are computed and then compared for all the analyzed cases.
ETABS is a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, special-purpose analysis and design program developed specifically for building systems. Although quick and easy for simple structures, ETABS can also handle the largest and most complex building models, including a wide range of nonlinear behaviors necessary for Performance-based design, making it the tool of choice for structural engineers in the building industry. ETABS has been continually updated to incorporate the latest in structural engineering technology, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of the industry.
ETABS is a special-purpose computer program developed specifically for building structures. It provides the Structural Engineer with all the tools necessary to create, modify, analyze, design, and optimize building models. These features are fully integrated into a single, Windows-based, graphical user interface that is unmatched in terms of ease of use, productivity, and capability (Wilson, 2002). The innovative and revolutionary new ETABS is the ultimate integrated software package for the structural analysis and design of buildings. Incorporating 40 years of continuous research and development, this latest ETABS offers unmatched 3D object-based modeling and visualization tools, blazingly fast linear and nonlinear analytical power, sophisticated and comprehensive design capabilities for a wide range of materials, and insightful graphic displays, reports, and schematic drawings that allow users to quickly and easily decipher and understand analysis and design results.
