Hip hop was not always what it was like today, But people have always had mixed opinions about hip hop on whether it is good for the masses to listen to. Because of vulgar language in music referencing drugs, alcohol, sex, and gangs it is understandable to why hip hop is looked at the way it is now and reasons why stereotypes exist. Doug E. Fresh, a famous beat-boxer in rap music said that Hip-hop is supposed to uplift and create, to educate people on a larger level and to make a change.

Throughout the years music artist have evolved and changed the way hip hop is perceived. Considering how it started hip hop is now the most popular genre of music, finally surpassing rock in 2017 according to the Nielsen year end report. However, is music extremely the direct explanation for however teens act, or might their behavior presumably be the results of music that faucets into the emotional feelings of these who hear it? might it’s peer pressure and therefore the proven fact that with technology nowadays it’s become more durable to control what teens listen to? once analyzing these queries, it’s become apparent, not solely why individuals hear music, however, it affects every and each person, presumably leading to inappropriate fashion selections. Hip-hop music hasn’t invariably had a nasty name hooked up to it; it really had positive beginnings. DJ Kool Herc was the primary to get the building blocks of hip hop in 1973 within the South The Bronx (Swanson). in contrast to matters in today’s society, hip-hop music was a cry against oppression and the simplest way to set free engineered up anger whereas attempting to maneuver far from gang violence in inner-city neighborhoods.

Once hip-hop began to realize quality, saltation competitions replaced violent gang fights. Even then, this genre of music looked as if it would influence people who detected it, however in a very completely different means from its influence nowadays. Sadly the problem with today’s music is that not most artist do not care if the lyrics have meaning or not as long as it goes viral. And with platforms like youtube, soundcloud and social media, more artist can blow up out of nowhere more easily unlike before artist could only sell physical copies and couldn’t really blow up without a record deal. The influence of music these days appears to be joined to the bad language and aggression found notably in hip-hop and popular rap music. Some rap artists use aggressively bad language in their lyrics that are easily adoptable by teens. It is not solely the reason why some lyrics influenced the manner teens speak however it goes with their actions.
