In 1994, the Shawshank Redemption was released and directed by Frank Darabont. He made a stepping stone for the later success of this film by creating a finely script with the dialogue is carefully chiseled, edged deeply into the character's interior. The director excels in the exceptional adaptation of Stephen King's similarly Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption novel.
This is a primarily film indicates the persistence and hope and rotates surround Andrew 'Andy' Dufresne (is acted by Tom Robbins) and Ellis Boyd 'Red' Redding (is acted by Morgan Freeman). The tale is narrated by Red. In 1947, Andy who is a banker is accused of killing his wife and a secret lover. He is then convicted two life terms in the Shawshank jail which is managed by Samuel Norton (is acted by Bob Gunton) as warden. When Andy arrived the Shawshank, he is quickly befriended by Red, who is a prisoner in jail, sentences a life term and has not been given parole. Then he begins to prepare for his escape plan, starting with Andy asks Red for a rock hammer which could help him to maintain his hobby of rock collection used in creating his chess set but the most important thing is that it is used for breakout. Andy then asks him for some poster of Rita Hayworth in order to hide the rock hammer behind the wall.
While he was continuously implementing the plan that was set out, he sends letters every week to get funding for a library. Shortly thereafter, the government sends funds, the shipment contains a variety of records and a record player, when the guard gone, Andy does the unguessable, he plays 'The Marriage of Figaro' over the loadspeakers of the whole jail, and in the briefest of moments, every man in Shawshank felt free. but that action made Andy imprisons in solitary confinement, Andy then says, 'You need it so you do not forgetâ¦that there are places in the world that aren't made out of stone. That there is something inside that they can not get to; that they can not touch. It's your hope'. Red answers Dufresne's previous sentiments on hope with his own, 'Hope can drive a man insane. It's got no use on the inside'. But that does not bother Andy, he just want to help other inmates feel a little meaning and hopeful in imprisonment life .After helping the Warden launder money. Tommy arrives, Andy teaches him how to read, write and gain the degree. A year later, Tommy reveals that he murders Andy's wife and lover. With proof of his innocence, Andy desperately tries to convince the Warden to help him and ends up insulting the Warden but he does not want to lose Andy and then murders Tommy. The last legally freedom chance of Andy was snatched away, even so, the Warden could not extinguish the flame of hope in Andy and one more time, he makes everyone feel respectful and admirable when he continued to dig a way lead to the road. Finally, he successfully escaped, this time, it makes Red, from a cynical man who has lost all of hope become a man have belief that he will be parole and have a new life outside from Shawshank, and then, his hope came true.
In Andy's thinking, hope generates belief, belief creates strength to promote him to escape from Shawshank, but Red isn't like that, Red's hope is simply hope without belief, he doesn't think he will achieve parole and get a new life outside the jail after his plea has been denied from time to time, his wish for freedom has somehow died away. Red believes that hope might induce Andy feel disappointed and destroyed from the inside. Two men have a different culture, provide that they are in the same position with the same intention of chasing freedom, their view on hope is absolutely opposite. Accordingly their perspective, Red's hope is like a weakness fire which was created and quickly extinguished. While to Andy, his hope like a strong magma slowly run under him and wait to explode.
After Red was paroled, he fellow the direct of Andy lead to a tree and found out a note. At the end of the note says, 'Remember, Red. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. I will be hoping that this letter finds you, and finds you well. Your friend, Andy'. Now, he decides meet Andy and board a train to Mexico. The last words that Red narrate to demonstrate he was transformed and really got his nice hope back. 'I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.'
