The process of choosing our own career path was one of the biggest decision in our life it is the process of defining what we want to become in the future but as students, we need to define what career are we going to choose as early as possible.

Many people choose a career path based on what a parent does for a living or the fact they are good at a particular subject. Being a good fit for a career or job is not about academic or technical abilities, you also need to have the right personality type learning preferences and enjoy the type of environment that goes on the job or career that you’re going to choose.
Choosing a career path can help you set professional goals and develop a strategy for getting where you want to be. A part of selecting the suitable career path includes making an sincere self-assessment of your talents, abilities and pursuits also you may need a help from those who will help you and guide you to set your career path as you can see one of our goals is to help them to set their life goals as we notice elements of your career path may change due to circumstances in an overall period of time, having an overall professional idea that has an objective which will guide you and help you to make critical decisions with much clearer state of mind.

When you choose a career path, you position yourself to look far into the future at your ultimate objectives. This can guide you choose positions that you want to achieve an overall income that you want to earn. It can also help to guide you in building your personal and professional networks in the industry in which you’re interested in choosing career path is the hardest we need to ensure that all of our decisions will be positive for the future Having long-term goals in place will help you stay focused on your ultimate career objectives, rather than moving aimlessly from job to job.

One of our main goal is to help students and guide them when it comes in decision making on choosing there career path we want to assure that students are making good and right decision on choosing what they want to become because a career is not just earning an income it is about pursuing the essence of our life.

Choosing a career happens to be one of the most significant decisions for one to make in life. It is more than just deciding what to do to earn and make a living. It encompasses notable time and money. An individual spends several years dedicated to studies and will have to pay a thousand dollars clearing for books and tuition. To enhance the search for the most appropriate career, one has to look at career assessments followed by some research on career choices. This paper compares and contrasts video game editing and geneticist career choices.

The career of video game editing has various aspects that need to be researched prior to selecting it as a career. Most individuals would be interested to understand what the job is about, including what they have to learn, the form of training and education necessary for such a job, what daily activities they would carry out while doing this job, and if it pays a right amount of money to sustain their lifestyle needs. Most of the answers to such questions are available in the O*Net. Following the O*Net, a games editor is made up of 22 different tasks. The first task asserts that designers should balance and adjust gameplay skills to make sure that there is a commercial and critical success of the commodities (2019). Another task, as stated by the O*Net, indicates that the designers should offer feedback to other designers and colleagues concerning game design properties. Finally, the designers should build core game properties such as role-play techniques, storylines, and character biographies as well for a newly established game franchise or video game (2019).

For better performance of the desired activities and tasks of a video game editor, O*Net documented that the designer may be in need of technical skills in several computer software, including photo or graphics imaging, video creation, and editing, and development environment software. Additionally, a designer should be well equipped with other fundamental skills. A designer should have the capability to participate in programming, critical thinking, and active listening, as well as complex problem solving. In addition to relevant skills, there are various levels of knowledge stated as needs for a career in editing. According to O*Net, a designer should be knowledgeable about design, psychology, computers and electronics, and communications and media. An individual would most likely obtain some of such skills via their learning in college. Numerous people in this form of the profession have a bachelor’s degree, including an associate’s degree.

The appearance of employment trends in the editing field looks favorable. Following the O*Net reports, a games editor in Texas earns an average salary of $16.80 per hour that meets the national average while in U.S. job a designer aged between 10-19 years of experience earns compensation of &60, 561 and those with about 20 years and above earn an average compensation of 62, 120$. There appears to be 17, 240 job projections by 2016, and a potential increase by 16 percent over ten years to 19,960 jobs in Texas in the year 2012. This indicates an annual job projection of 15,000 and that if I select a career in this field, I will secure a job in Texas.

Following my research in this job, it appears to be something interesting for me to engage in. Before deciding to follow this career path, various lingering questions need to be addressed. But I feel that while on the job force these can be easily answered. We will just have to wait and see.

The second career I selected to research is vastly different than that of the video game designer. A geneticist is a career that I have grown having an interest in working in. AKA you picked it for me. Research is vital for career assessment.

According to O*Net, geneticists work in the study and research of the inheritance traits at the various levels, including molecular, organism, or population level. Three tasks listed in the O*Net is that geneticists are expected to: evaluate, treat, or diagnose genetic conditions; review, approve, or interpret genetic laboratory outcomes; and monitor laboratory notebooks that keep records of research procedures, methods, or outcomes (2019).

Geneticists should also be proficient in numerous skills. They should be skilled in active learning, comprehension reading, critical thinking, and speaking. Additionally, this job needs technological skills, including medical, spreadsheet, and scientific or analytical software.

When looking at the two career choices, a video game editor and geneticist, various similarities are readily apparent. First, the two career choices employ Microsoft word processing software. Second, both careers need active listening as well as knowledge of psychology. Finally, with a growth of over 10 percent within the next ten years, the two careers might offer various job opportunities for college graduates.

As the two careers have a few similarities, they appear to have numerous differences than similarities. First, a video game editor must be knowledgeable about psychology and design, while geneticists must be knowledgeable about biology and medicine and dentistry (O*Net, 2019). Another key difference is that geneticists require post-doctoral training, including a doctoral degree, while a video game editor needs a bachelor’s degree level of education.

General, following much research, I believe the career of video game editor would be my most interesting career job. With the projected growth rate of 16 percent for a period of ten years asserts that looking for a job should be achievable. It’s my belief that its job tasks on a daily basis would be tasks that I would find enjoyable.

In conclusion, this paper discussed two diverse careers, looking at skills, knowledge, educational needs, tasks, and job growth opportunities. It also involved substantial research exploring each career choice from different points of view, including their comparing and contrasting them. Following the research for these careers, I gained enough confidence to choose Video Game editor as my most favorable career choice.
