The history of mobile phones starts in 1946 when Bell systems introduced the first commercial mobile phone it was very large and weighed around 80 pounds it cost about $30 a month back then and you still had to pay extra per call you made. The next developments lead to a partly automatic mobile system which was first used in Sweden. Bell then improved their phones and made them lighter and more advanced and over time they got them down to about 20 pounds, but they still cost a lot and were in limited supply. Motorola in 1973 made the first portable phone and the first call was to their rivals at Bell. 10 years later and the Motorola cost around £6, 500 in today’s money. The next big advancement in mobile phones didn’t happen until 1996 when Motorola mad a phone that could fit into you hand and into your pocket. The biggest advancement of mobile phones to date is when Apple released their original iPhone which had an interactive interface (touch screen) and used the 3G network. The first phone to meet the 4G standard was the HTC EVO 4G and there have been many more advancements since.
The costs of mobile phones still varies a huge amount anywhere from £15 all the way to £1500+ in some cases this does mean that the less you pay the less functions are available to you on your phone. You can get different speed phones this could mean how fast it can run or how fast it can transfer data via cable, WIFI speed, Mobile data and possibly even the refresh rate of the screen. The use of mobile phones has increased dramatically as people use them in their everyday lives now from texting, calling, taking notes and even taking photos and some business even issuing their staff work phones. Most modern phones have wireless capabilities such as WIFI and Bluetooth. The amount of storage in phones has increased dramatically over the years from KB all the way up to 512GB in the newest phone that has been released which also allows you to add more storage by adding a micro SD Card.
Mobile phones will definitely change the way we view images as they no longer have to be printed out and stored as we can store hundreds or thousands of images on our phones and we can also take images with our phones and in seconds we can share the image with people so that they can view it on their phones two. It makes the viewing and distributing of images much easier, simpler and faster than ever before.
My opinion is that mobile phones have changed the world they are used in everyday lives to communicate with people all across the world in both personal and businesses. You use them more than you realise to call, send text, emails, photos and files to one another.
