“A dream you dream alone is a dream, a dream you dream together is reality”- John Lennon.
John Whinstone Lennon was born on the 9th of October during the German air raid of WW2. John Lennon became famous for four main things. The first thing is that john was the lead vocalist, co-founder and rhythm guitarist of the world famous band the Beatles, after the Beatles split up he joined another band called the plastic Onos band, after he also left this band he became a solo artist writing and singing his own music, and a peace activist.
John Lennon was born in Liverpool England, he lived for a period of his life with his mother Julia Stanley and his father Alfred Lennon. His mother worked as a waitress, but then when she had John she became a homemaker, as for his father he worked as a bellhop in a hotel. John’s childhood was reasonably happy; he had some emotional troubles when it came to his parents’ divorce when he was four years old and him having to live with his aunt, who pursued to teach John the ukulele and the banjo. In school John was very much a prankster, he enjoyed getting in trouble with the teachers and overall being a student from hell. He always got awful grades, so his teacher told him he would pursue a better schooling at a performing arts college as he had the motivation and the talent for it, this definitely affected who he became, as Performing Arts College helped him with having the talent and experience and diploma for his music career.
After John graduated from Liverpool school of performing arts, he had the job as a canteen worker at Liverpool airport, which when John died was re-named the John Lennon airport as a tribute. When he became further involved into adulthood and had started pursuing his musical dream, he met the man who helped start the Beatles, Paul McCartney, from two men it turned to four when the recruited the other two Beatles, George Harrison and Ringo star. The Beatles released and had sold 600 million to 1 billion records with hit songs, nearly all of which were written by john and McCartney.
The band had formed in the year 1960 and went their separate ways in 1969-1970; during this was John’s gateway to join his second wife yokyo Onos band the plastic Onos, likewise the Beatles, they shortly split as John wanted to become a solo artist. After working towards becoming this, John had released many albums before death, but there was one song that sent his career and sales through the sky, and this song was johns hit, Imagine,
During his solo career John had become a peace activist, he was one for standing for human peace rights and peaceful political activism on the world. As this was during times of WW2 and black protests and racism. He was standing for what he stood for, he was astounded by what the world had become, his song imagine, was sending the message that we are all equal and the world has the ability to stand as one and that no matter what country race weight or colour you are, we are all human. The people had a new perspective on what the world could become.
From starting the Beatles and joining the plastic Onos, to standing up for people’s rights and political diversity rights, from becoming a solo artist and building himself to the top selling over 31 million albums by the end of his life, he has been remembered as a great mind. He was great in many points such as he had a positive powerful impact on the world with the message of his music. He changed peoples perspectives and outlooks that so many people would opinionate themselves on based of what others thought either it is changing impacts on little things like everyone is equal, or give people different political aspects on the world.
For the world John Lennon will always be remember as a great mind. Not just for his music but for the message that he sent to the world. He influenced so many people with his music, his peace and political opinions and aspects, his lyrical wisdom and so much more, and I am one of these people that admires John Lennon and has been moved by him, music has always been my life’s purpose it feels. without music I would have a whole part of me missing, when I first listened to johns music I was moved by his piano and lyrics that he pulled together. His story on how he went from the bottom to the top really made me feel like I could do that for myself and really made me feel like I could and I will pursue my dream for becoming a musician, this is why John Lennon is a great mind.
