Kanye West: Influence, Innovator and Humanitarian

Introduction

Do you know someone that has impacted global culture? Have you ever tried to impact global culture? I know a person that has impacted global culture and his name is Kanye West! Kanye West was born in Atlanta Georgia, on June 8th, 1977. Growing up he was influenced by Elon Musk. Kanye graduated from Polaris High School and went to college at Chicago State University he also attended American Academy of Art. Kanye also has went to school and has his honorary degree.

Influence of Kanye West

Kanye West has influenced the world in so many ways. He has had a huge impact in the sneaker community. One of his influences were Steve Jobs, he is a entrepreneur who has became a multimillionaire who has created Apple. A lot of people use these apple products in their daily. “I would hear stories about Steve Jobs and feel like he was at 100 percent exactly what to do, but I’m sure even a Steve Jobs has compromised”(West).Kanye West has attended school at Polaris High School as mentioned. People always thought he was a drop out or was going to drop out, but Kanye has recently got his honorary degree May 11, 2015 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. “We’re gonna teach our kids that they can be something”(West). He is encouraging kids in this world that they can finish school something that he did not do while he was in college. “I was never really good at anything except for the ability to learn”(West). When he said this he was talking about his ability to learn and it was the easiest thing in life. Before the shoes and sunday services he created music for a long time and he still creates music. “I mean, it’s the music it wasn’t a gimmick thing”(West). His music also made him become a very successful person before he started doing anything else.

What makes Kanye West famous is his music, shoes, and his new sunday services. Kanye West has received 92 grammys one which is the Best Rap Album in 2005. Many people have different opinions on his music his music is actually good if you sit down and listen to it. Now his shoes early in his career he created one of his biggest shoes with a company called “Bape” they created his shoes from his album called “College Dropout”. He later than signed with nike in 2009 and he created one of his famous shoes called the “Red Octobers” which came out in 2013 these shoes originally cost $250 now they will now sell for over $2,000 because they are so limited and the materials used in them is another reason why they go for so much money. “How Kanye West Yeezy sneakers have boosted the resale market.” In this article they were “Keeping it real”. That's why his shoes have a huge impact on his career. He is known for his music also “Timeline of American Regional Hip Hop” and one of his quotes about his music was that “People never change. They just become better at hiding who they really are”(West). He is also known for his help in charity work.

Charity Work of Kanye West

Kanye West has helped many charity groups just a few common ones Red Cross, Food Bank for New York, Make it Right, Live 8, Live Earth etc. “The group decided that the organization will maintain its mission” (West). When he said that he was believing in all the organizations to say what they would do to help the community. He also plays a big part in the sneaker culture, he has made some of the best shoes in the world. Yeezys are one the shoes he made when these shoes come out for retail at $220 they can resale for more than $400 just because they are Kanye West shoes. Adidas Yeezy is a collaboration between German sportswear brand Adidas and American rapper Kanye West. His shoes were the first to have the new “Boost” feature in the shoes. Customers liked the way that the soles felt and Adidas noticed that and now most of their shoes have boost in them. Boost is the most innovative cushioning technology using a material called thermoplastic polyurethane that compresses under pressure for better shock absorption and instantly bounces back to its original shape.

He has also started something new which happens every sunday now called sunday service. In this service he has choir members that all wear his shoes “Yeezys”. Sunday Service is something new that he has started during these services the choir performs songs that have a mixture of gospel songs and old R&B songs. He has a live band that performs by using all types of instruments. The songs that they sing sometimes are unreleased music that Kanye West is working on.

To conclude, Kanye West is a artist who was inspired by others people. Kanye is a artist who has did different things to help the community and the world to become a better place. Kanye West is actually a very positive person in this world. His musical career has been marked by dramatic changes in styles, incorporating an eclectic range of influences including soul, baroque pop, electro, indie rock, synth-pop, industrial, and gospel.
