Major Changes that Impacted The United States in The Progressive Era

The period between 1877 and 1914 is the era at which the poor people across the world faced harsh condition and exploitation. During this period those who were in power did less to protect the rights of poor and they also took part in exploiting them. In America, during this era, the immigrants faced harsh working condition and exploitation by its employers. During this time the countries underwent industrialization in most of cities and thus there was high demand of labor, law materials and these companies were in high demand of new market. the country underwent major pollical changes as People were pushing for more fair governance thus changes for government institution were need, some changes occurred but they were slow. These changes impacted the USA as well as international market, political and economy. According to the book Jungle, Sinclair wrote about this challenges and changes that occurred.

Before the end of 20th century, major reforms were experience in the United States of America. There were reform movements that were formed, these reform movement was known as the as the progressive, these reformers reacted to challenges that emerged with growth of industries and cities. The progressive reformers first concentrated with pushing changes for lives of those who lived in slum and they worked close with members to get rid of the corrupt government officers. Most of the reform movement that were formed later in USA can be tracked back in this era. At the beginning of new era the Century, the Progressive reformers had started to attack huge government corporation that were faced with corruption allegation such as Standard Oil, Amour Meet corporation as well as US steal. The progressive exposed how those companies engaged in unfair business practices such as setting high prices, ill treatment of its workers such paying them low wages.

The main focus of the Sinclair was changes that occurred in the meat Industry. Sinclair wrote the story of what was happening in the meet packaging industry. He exposed the working condition of workers in these industries. He exposed the story of diseased, rotten and even contaminated meat that was packaged in these industries. Most of the slam meet corporation had been bought out by bigger companies throughout the entire the USA market and thus they could be able to set prices to the cattle rancher, consumer and the feed growers. These challenges resulted the public to complain about the condition and thus changes were made. The main change that was made to align the meet packaging is development of New Federal laws. President after reviewing the condition, he wrote a later to the congress declaring there is need for law. The law was initiated to enable the inspector preparation of meet packaging.

Most of reforms that were made in this era, affected the USA and other part of world. Most of the countries in the world followed suit to seek justice and demand for their right. Human right movement rose in Europe against the rich landlord who paid poor tenant very low salaries and thus people demanded for fair and just government. The industrial revolution affects production of other parts of world, there was high demand of labors, raw material as well as market for their finished product. The immigrants in USA increase immensely seeking for better job in the country. The changes and reforms in other part of world were referenced from the one that occurred in USA.
