Friendship Essay Example

Making friends is a very important part of our lives, whether we realize it or not. Who we surround ourselves with represent who we are as a person, and who we wish to become. No matter what you may be going through, friends will help with anything. They take your mind off of your problems, and they also provide great support when needed. Everyone has different types of friends. With each friend being unique and different, they all impact lives in their own ways. People tend to get different things from different friends. Despite popular belief having a diverse group of friends can have many positive impacts on your life. In fact having a polar opposite friend, a builder friend, and a best friend are all types of friends that could help you become a better person.

There’s an old saying that opposites attract and usually, people would think romantic relationships. However, opposites may attract to establish friendships as well. When having a friendship with someone who is completely different from you, you end up opening yourselves up to a whole new world of excitement. While everyone may wonder how you guys could possibly be such good friends, your dissimilarities bring you closer. While you’re with this friend they will always encourage you to try new things. Whether it’s urging you to let loose sometimes and live life a little more boldly or to try new things our of your comfort zone. While they push you out of your bubble they know your limits, and at the end of the day, you’re very grateful they did. Another positive outcome of having this friend could be that they come from a completely different background than you, therefore it opens your eyes to an entirely new world. They get you to question your assumptions and get you to take a look at things from their perspective as well. This could also urge you to be more understanding and accepting of people with different beliefs and values. Another possibility within this friendship is that it could create some sort of unsaid balance. Your weakness might be in a confrontation, but strong in compromise and disputing. While your polar opposite friend is the other end of the spectrum. These personality traits combine together and form a steady balance. A friend that is a polar opposite from yourself is a friendship that everyone needs in life.

Another positive friendship everyone needs in their life is a builder friend. A friend that will always build you up in life, they know who you are and what you need. This friend is someone you trust to help you navigate through difficult aspects of your life. It is someone whose advice you can trust and depend on. Someone who will lift you up, yet be honest with you when push comes to shove. This friend is most likely to see you through the best times of your life and the worst, but they’re always there supporting you. We feel as though we can get through any stressful situation if only we had someone to go through that with. Keep in mind that not every friend is made for this type of friendship role. Whether through a breakup or life crisis a builder friend will always give you the best advice because they genuinely care for your wellbeing. A friend with a builder personality is always going to push you to be the best you that you can possibly be. Someone who will push you farther, and challenge you more. They know what you’re capable of and want to help you achieve your dreams. This is another friendship everyone could use in their life.

Lastly, the friend that could always help you be a better person is considered your overall best friend. Having a best friend is a vital relationship needed in life. There are a few people you’ll love more in life than your best friend. No matter what happens in life, how far apart you guys are, you’ll never have the same connection with anyone else. Best friends share laughs, cry together, and talk about things you couldn’t talk about with anyone else. One positive thing about having a best friend is how you can ask them anything and they always be completely honest with you. Whether its questions about your relationship or if certain outfits look good, you’ll always receive an honest answer. Another great thing about having a best friend is that they’ll always be there through thick and thin. Everyone has rough patches in life, we all need one friend that will always be the shoulder to cry on. We all have times when we just can’t hold up the world on our own. This is the time when a best friend is most needed, whether they just make you laugh, let you cry it out, or just guide you through the situation they are always there. Most of the time you cant act a certain way in a public setting without being judged or looked at like your insane. But with having a best friend you establish a no-judgment zone. You know you can be as silly and goofy as you want anytime you want without any type of judgment. You could be crazy dancing to a stupid song, and your best friend will join in without even thinking twice. Having a best friend will make you a better person by always giving you unconditional love, and giving you hope that there is good in people.

Expert Review
The essay on friendship provides a comprehensive exploration of the various types of friends one might encounter and their respective impacts on personal growth. It effectively outlines the characteristics and benefits of having a polar opposite friend, a builder friend, and a best friend. The content is well-structured, following a clear outline that helps guide the reader through each section. However, while the examples provided are relatable and insightful, the essay could benefit from deeper analysis and more concrete examples to support its claims. Additionally, integrating more diverse perspectives could enhance the overall depth of the discussion. The conclusion succinctly ties together the main points but might be strengthened by reiterating how these friendships contribute to long-term happiness and success. Overall, this essay successfully highlights the significance of diverse friendships in life but leaves room for further elaboration in certain areas to reach its full potential.

What can be improved
The essay on friendship presents a solid framework and effectively highlights the various types of friends—polar opposite friends, builder friends, and best friends. However, there are several areas where it could be improved to elevate its overall quality. Firstly, the essay would benefit from deeper analysis of each friendship type. While the characteristics and benefits are mentioned, more concrete examples and personal anecdotes could enhance relatability and engagement. This would allow readers to better connect with the arguments being made. Additionally, integrating diverse perspectives on friendship—such as cultural differences in forming bonds or the impact of digital friendships in today’s society—would enrich the discussion and provide a broader context for understanding relationships. Moreover, while the conclusion summarizes key points well, it could be strengthened by explicitly linking how these friendships contribute to long-term happiness and success in life. Emphasizing this connection would leave readers with a more profound understanding of why cultivating diverse friendships is essential. Overall, refining these aspects will lead to a more compelling narrative that resonates deeply with readers while highlighting the multifaceted nature of friendship.
