Mongols’s proclaimed influence upon China and Persia during 1205 through 1223, was an immense wreck at first towards the two regions, but as mongol’s took more control, people were led to being under one influence within the Mongol’s regions. The Mongols were an up and rising force that were simply taking everything they can, including land. What started as small raids in China, who were ruled by the Song Dynasty, turned into a larger conquest by the Mongols over China, as Mongols slowly established dominance there by placing the Yuan Dynasty and beating the Song dynasty. While in Persia, Mongols had a caravan out who were murdered by Persian forces. This led to Genghis Khan declaring war on the Khwarezmid Empire, rulers of the Persia area. This led to the Mongols.
Mongols within both Persia and China shared a huge similar through their land as they had accepted all types of religions. The Mongols who were seen as “barbaric” actually were religiously tolerant. Due to this, both lands shared an abundant amount of people with different religions in the regions. Within Persia, the people at first refused the Mongols, but had no other choice later, similar to China. While ruiling these areas, Mongols began to take notice upon these different religions, as they actually took on some religions such as Christianity and Islam. Mongols’s influence even led to a spread of Islam due to their intrerest in the religions. Mongol’s accepting all religions began to lead to more religions spreading through area, leading to a more civilized state, as now everyone in the Persia and Chinese lands were under the same ruler. Due to the overseeing of the Mongols over these areas, religions were accepted and would spread, as everyone began to fall under one culture, the Mongols culture.
A major difference that occurs when the Mongols ruled both Persia and China was the effect that they had on the mongols. While Mongol’s influence was within both regions, Persia had a much larger effect on Mongols than China. Persia truly made Mongols embrace new religions as Persia showed Mongols religions such as Christianity and Islam. Mongols would actually take on these religions and spread it to different areas such as China and Russia. Mongols also took on Persian literacy, as they could read the Persian language. In China they couldn’t nor did they take on the language. Persia truly impacted Mongol’s views and beliefs as China didn’t have as big of an impact.
In conclusion, The Mongols spread upon Europe was an absolutely devastating one. They allowed a deadly disease called bubonic plague spread through Europe, decimating the population. Mongols themselves attacked Europe, defeating several regions, and destroying several empires. Yet, Mongols had some positives such as the Pax Mongolica where peace was made under Mongol rule for a century. It led to Silk Road being reopened and goods being traded peacefully. Technology was spreading through these too, such as printing and papermaking. Scientific knowledge was also spread through the trades, as they talked about their ideas and shared them. Mongols then unified Russia, as they were broken into smaller city-states. Mongols would go on to leave an impact on our modern day fighting tactics due to the Mongol’s brilliant attacks.
