Have you at any point of time wondered what drives you to improve as a better person in life? That push you get when you need to achieve something that appears to be distant, that influence which made you do idiotic things that you know you shouldn’t have done but you did it at any rate. That craving which made you to work harder in class to get that gold star up by your name. Each of these experiences shows different types of motivation.
So, what is motivation basically? Well motivation is that internal or external factor which put desire and energy in a person to be continually committed to a job and helps him/her to attain his/her goal. Therefore, we can say that motivation is broadly classified into two categories- Intrinsic/internal motivation, Extrinsic/external motivation. For example: - Mike has define an objective to himself of getting in shape in two months as he needs to pursue a way of wellbeing and soundness to enhance his general health and to look more joyful with his appearance. Since Mike's desire to change his appearance originates from inside, his inspiration is intrinsic or internal. Now for example Mike is spurred by his father to lose his weight and to get healthy. In this case it is extrinsic or external inspiration as he is motivated from outside and by someone else. All of the minor kinds of motivations may fall under one of the two major categories mentioned above. Let’s look into some minor kinds of motivations.
Monetary or non-monetary incentive based inspiration is used to motivate people to make them complete a specific task or to reward them for their hard work. It can be both intrinsic and extrinsic. For example: - in case of a company, a manager can reward monetary/non- monetary incentives to his employee for recognising his/her hard work. As the employee is motivated by his manager thus it will fall under the category of extrinsic or external motivation. When the reward gets better, motivation gets stronger.
When incentives do not work, fear motivation comes into play. Fear of punishments and failure motivates people to do their work. Fear motivation can be the fastest acting tactics to motivate someone to do something. For example: - someone shoots at you and you become motivated to run a lot faster than your capability due to the fear of getting shot by the bullet. As the person motivated himself to run a lot faster than his capability thus it will fall under the category of intrinsic or internal motivation.
Change inspiration is the push you feel when you need to acquire change in your life or environment. It's that inspiration when you get in your front yard for the first time to cut that weed grass since you are tired of seeing it long each day. It's the inspiration you get after you end up tired of how things are and look for approaches to enhance it and improve it. For example: - Current Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi started with a mission of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ where he aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, towns, and rural areas as he wants to bring a change in the environment.
An issue with your state of mind, point of view, and convictions is an attitude that a significant number of us confront with. It can turn into an issue in transit that we move all through to the point that we start to lose our satisfaction and pass up on our fantasies. Attitude motivation helps the people to change how they think and feel about certain things. It helps them to bring back their self-confidence and changes their perspective of how they see the world around them. Motivation is a vital part of our lives if we want to achieve our dreams. Above listed are amongst the few types which will help you to become a better person in life and will make you want to improve yourself every day. Motivation also plays an important role in the success of any organization. Organizations such as Apple pay their employees more to be creative and motivate them to give their ideas on how to get better each day.
