My Desire to Protect - is Why I Want to Be a Police Officer

I want to be a Police Officer because I’d like to help lower crime rates in the city, along with helping the citizens of Los Santos. What I need to do as a police officer? What personal skills and traits will be beneficial for me in this career? In “Why I want to be a police officer?' short essay I will give answers to these question. 

As a Police Officer, I believe my main duty would be to protect the life and property of the citizens by enforcing the laws and regulations. Other duties would include responding to dispatch calls, patrolling certain areas, as well as conducting traffic stops. As An Officer, I would also expect to arrest and process criminals, conduct interviews and investigations, and testify in court. I also expect to have a good ability to exercise judgement in determining when to use force and to what degree. I believe that I will have to encourage the proper movement of individuals and vehicles, and direct traffic on streets and freeways. An LSPD Officer should also act professionally to all citizens, which I am prepared to do.

As a Los Santos Police Officer I believe I can bring a willingness to learn every day, I work extremely well under pressure, which I understand is a common occurrence in this job. I possess problem-solving skills that I know will be very useful not only during individual situations but as well as during investigations that involve multiple suspects or victims. I love being a part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment, which I know will be a major part of the LSPD. I am a safe driver, but also know how to control cars at speed, which is another positive that I feel I’d bring to the team. I know some basic 10 codes, and I'm sure there are many skills I will develop throughout a career in the LSPD. I am excited to learn along the way.

I'm a curious person, I won't stop an investigation until I am sure I have gathered every solid piece of information I can acquire. I would also use my authority to make the citizens feel safe where they live and travel, by patrolling areas of high crime and death rates. My goal to pursue a career as a Los Santos Police Officer has been part of my plans since I flew into the city because I enjoy helping others. I would like to build a relationship with the citizens of Los Santos, not just as a Police Officer, but as someone who is there to help anyone when they need it. I am also excited about the aspects of the job that include casual interactions with the citizens. On another note, it can be said that the types of crimes people commit nowadays are sometimes shocking and excessive. In addition to this, even the citizens who just flew in are aware of how to plot a crime to avoid getting caught. I want to protect the innocent lives being harmed by these offenders who have nothing better to do.
