My Hero: Walter Elias Disney

Have you ever wanted to learn about the guy who created Mickey Mouse himself? Well, Walter Elias Disney was his name the creator of Disney films. Walt Disney had a very hard childhood with his brother and his sister. Disney is famous for all of his original Disney films and his amazing work at his Disney theme parks. Walt Disney was a guy who nobody believed in and was not believed to be a real artist for his cartoon drawings. Disney is my hero because he proved everyone wrong and proved that he could do it.

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. Most of Disney's childhood was in Marceline, Missouri where he started to pursue drawing. In 1911 his family moved to Kansas City where he started his love for trains. His uncle, Mike Martin, got Disney a job to work in the summer at the railroad track. He would sell snacks and newspapers to all the travelers. Walt Disney attend McKinley High School in Chicago, where he did drawings, and photography classes, and designed the school paper. When he was 16 he dropped out of that school. He decided to join the army but they rejected him for being underage. Instead of joining the army he joined the Red Cross and drove an ambulance. Then in 1919, he moved back to the U.S.

Walt Disney became one of the best-known motion picture production companies in the world. Walt Disney was an animator and the creator of the famous cartoon character Mickey Mouse. Disney won 22 awards in his lifetime. He is also the founder of 2 theme parks. Disneyland was a huge theme park near Los Angeles in 1955. Then before his death, he began building another park in Orlando Florida called Walt Disney World.

He did work with American motion pictures and was a television producer and showman. He was famous as a pioneer of such cartoon characters as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Walt Disney's first movie was Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, it was shown on December 21, 1937, it was his first full-length animation.

In 1925, Disney hired an artist named Lillian Bounds. After a brief courtship, he and Lillian got married. Disney and Lillian had 2 children after they got married. One was born in 1933 was Diane Disney Miller, and she was their only biological daughter. Then shortly after Sharon Disney Lund’s birth in 1936, they adopted her. Both of their daughters had children, Sharon had 3 children and Diane had 7 children. Diane and her husband, Ronald Miller and had seven children and all of their children's names are Christopher, Jonna, Tamara, Walter, Jennifer, Patrick, and Ronald Miller Jr.. Sharon and her first husband, Robert Brown, adopted a little girl, Victoria Disney, and her and her second husband Bill Lund, had twins named Brad and Michelle.Disney's death was in 1966 but not long after Lillian Disney died in 1997.

Walter Elias Disney is a very good influence on his children and his family. He set a good goal to achieve during his lifetime. A Lot of people honor his work to all of his movies he made to all of the theme parks that were inspired by him. He had a very hard childhood with his sister and brother. Walter had a great family with his wife to his grandchildren. He worked really hard to get it all, he started selling newspapers and snacks to get money. He started off has no one believed in him but he never gave up now look where he is now.
