My Motivation to Enter The Bachelor of Science Program in Economics

I am applying for the Economics bachelor of science program. Right now I am completing the final year of my IB diploma at Bonn International school. The subjects that I am undertaking in the IB are German B language and acquisition, History and Biology at higher level. My standard level subjects are Economics, English language and acquisition and Mathematical studies. After I graduate in May 2019, my aim is to pursue my studies in Economics at the university of Leeds.

The reason why I want to pursue Economics is because I want to understand the vast economic world. This program will also assist me in the future in dealing with the economic environment. Right now I am in my final year, and I have developed a very strong interest for economics. My strong interest is very evident in the numerous events that I took part in such as MUN and TEDX that have strong ties with economic events. My work experiences that I have pursued are also strongly involved with economics. I am also a consistent and dedicated team worker and team player which is evident from MUN, BIS Band, football team, basketball team. Taking part in events and collaboratively working together others is what I have been doing countless times. The numerous sporting events and school events that I have taken part in have given me a lot of experience with leadership, collaborating with others to strive for goals and developing my international understanding due to the global engagement with various individuals from different countries around the world.

My main goal is to work in the vast business world and I am striving to work in a big company such as Goldman Sachs. Economics opens so many doors and gives me a wide range of professions to choose from such as a business consultant, analyst or an investment banker. After my thorough research on the numerous events that caused financial crisis of the Lehman Brothers, I was hooked since it was the largest bankruptcy incident in American history. The fall of this major and strong company has motivated other economic driven individuals and also educated these individuals on what mistakes to avoid when running an enterprise. Your sophisticated teaching methods and your excellent education framework will equip me for the real world. And not to forget you are Russell Group university which speaks volume. The educational system that is applied in England has a major benefit to me since it would enable me to acquire a strong a foundations in economics. Additionally I would also be acquiring a vital skill set which is absolutely necessary. A soon as I discovered the economic bachelors of science program (Hons) at University, I knew straight away that this course is the right choice due to many reasons.

This sophisticated course covers incorporates many topics that I am really interested in such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics. As a consultant or investment banker, I need to be understand and utilize these areas for solving problems that I will be facing in the future. I am positive that the range of methods you utilize for example seminars, tutorials, workshops will enable me to attain sophisticated knowledge and a consolidated skill set. The university has a vast international community. This is a very appealing aspect since I have been schooled in an international since I was born. I have always been surrounded by many different cultures. Communicating with a global community is what I have been doing on daily basis. I believe that I am a beneficial student since I can contributed to this international environment with my own and diverse culture. When I look at our global world, I have understood that the path to success and achieving a strong economic perspective is to develop one's international understanding which is evident from my International understanding award that I received from the European council of international schools. At your university, I will be collaboratively working with different people from all around the world to attain outstanding goals which will enable me to develop as a global interconnected individual. Studying at your prestigious and high ranked university will enable me to develop and modify my knowledge on the economic world. This sophisticated programme will enable me to consolidate my team skills and leadership skills which are vital for my working environment. Your university will enable me to build a strong foundational basis for my career aims. Your relationships with well-known international firms, your structured and sophisticated education framework and your vast global community will provide me with a strong basis to face the many hurdles that I will be encountering in the future.
