The study of an association existing amidst warmth and other types of energy is studied in a branch of physics known as thermodynamics-. The Honda Civic has come up with a new model of the engine better than the previous generations of Honda engines. The improvements on the 2016 engines have made everyone with the capability to obtain these modern machines to rush for them. More than there before, the new generation of the 2016 Honda Civic engines has been classified as one of the best world’s new invention and innovation due to its high horsepower and ability to consume little fuel as it produces a thrust better than the previous generations. This essay will look into the thermodynamics of the new 2016 1.5l Civic engine and why it has obtained such a high fame all over the world.

The 2016 Honda Civic model is the first of the kind to be turbocharged. The 1.5l 174hp/162 lb-ft DOHC is sporty directly injected turbo engine code L15B7 is one of the engines that is offered in the levels of EX trim as stated by (Wada et al., 2016). There are the engines of the type R model that have already been introduced in the market. However, two more engines of the type R and type S are also available. The new paradigm of the 1.5l Honda Civic engine is almost the same as the one that is currently available in England where the models are manufactured. It only means that this engine will have a directly injected VTEC DOHC hatchback 2.0L turbo motor that will have the capability to pump out a 306hp. Other levels of the hatchback trim were announced in 2016 in the United States together with the type R model.

The 1.5l model of the turbo motor has a CVT that seems casual but somewhat attractive in the sense that it has a higher drive ratio that is translated to a better concluding acceleration that is compared to that of the 2.0l model and those of the standard models of CVT in K20C2 engines which are naturally pronounced. The engine model has a six-speed transmission ratio with no CVT options with a higher grip due to the presence of a powered limited slip discrepancy which is a similar set-up to that of the type R model.

The 2016 model has a more sophisticated and better system with a single tier display that is digitally powered. This one functions better than the first double tier dash system that began in the 8th generations of the 2006 Civic models. The system also has a 7-inch auto touchscreen audio CarPlay system that is android and apple powered to bring the user the elegance and interface desired. This system is better than the sound systems of the first generations thus distinguishing the mere essence of improvements. It only means that the 2016 model comes with style. It has LED backlight; the daytime LED running lights that are consistent with all the levels of fit stated by (Wada et al., 2016). These are just options for the LED lights that are available. The system also has projector headlights that have been standardized. The system is also built with the Honda sensing technology that involves options for track keeping assist, track exit cautioning, a braking system for accident extenuation and the adaptive voyage regulator which is a new technology that works on a low-speed follow basis.

The 1.5l engine being the first turbo that has been offered to the customers of Honda brands with a weight of at least 2924 pounds has the capability to gain speed from0-60mph in 6.8 seconds. This is enhanced by the continuous transmissions that keep on changing inserted amid the crankshaft and the constant speed linkages. The rotation plateaus of its 1700-5500 rpm turbo four’s helps to keep the right foot from dashing the tachometer with every switch. This model has four cylinders with a horsepower 0f 174 at 600rpm. It is also fitted with a turbocharger with a single scroll pumping a boost of 16.5 psi. It has 162-pound feet. This system was built in a better way than most CVTs due to its better control. If the transmission would be shifted from S to D, the turbo reels up quickly when the engine is kept spinning at 1000rpm stated by (Wada et al., 2016). When the driver bangs on the regulate lever to the bottom, there is an imitation of conservative reflex by the CVT to a 6000 rpm power which is its peak. However, this model is the 2015 model that has no manual approach to control the proportion slide as stated by (Lenz, 2016). Such turbocharged engine does not offer a manual transmission like that of the 2.0l engine system.

The front and the back multilink suspension is powered by the solid anti-roll bars of 1.0 inch on the front and 0.7 on the back to keep the motion of the form in check. This system has an electrically assisted steering which is more than ten percent faster than those in the previous generations. The engine is denser due to the elimination of a more separate old-fashioned exhaust manifold that had an exhaust port that was cast straight into the cylinder head. The DOHC together with its spectacular four valves per cylinder is driven by a timing chain. This increases the ease of maintenance which makes it similar to the 1.8l HOSC system that was there before. The similarity between the two is enhanced by the presence of a drive-by-wire system that handles control input.

The system’s vibrations have been reduced by the use of an enhanced skirt design together with the use of cavity shaped pistons. These skirt designs and the pistons are also used to increase the system’s efficiency. The system also obtains its strength from the use of one bar that is obtained after forging by heating the lightweight steel bars that connect the rods. The friction between the cylinders and the pistons is also lowered by the use of plateau honing system as well as the use of 0W-20 oil that is less viscous as stated by (Lenz, 2016). This 1.5l system is, however, less superior than that of the 2.0l system that has a fuel system deliver controlled by the use of a programmed fuel injection (PMG) stated by (Wada et al., 2016). It also varies due to the use of “Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lifts Electronic Control” which is an I-VTEC Honda’s patent system.

The 1.5l system is also robust due to the presence of a Meno-scroll turbo system backed up by an intercooler and an electric wastegate. This also helps in raising of the turbocharged engine from the base engine. Through this, a higher turbo boost is built with minor control openings and little rpm. A compression ratio of 10.6.1 is allowed by the direct injection. The injection system is also computerized. It is also made up of multi-hold fuel injectors. The previous generations made use of the M14 spark plugs, but the 2016 1.5l system makes use of the M12 spark plugs.

According to Lenz, (2016) the 2016 system is also exceptional in its ways in that it has a tweaked CVT. This helps in reduction of the turbocharger lag with progressive acceleration due to the inclusion of a twin damper with a turbine design. This makes the 1.5l system to produce a 174hp at 500rpm and 200Nm rotation from 1800- 5000rpm. The uniqueness of the scheme is also seen in the sense that the driver can choose to delay an upshift if he needs through the use of sports mode. The system is brought to its full horsepower in a lined style when the gear proportions are effortlessly attuned. All these processes happen simultaneously beginning with the sending of power to the wheels by the CVT due to sudden acceleration. A fantastic ECON system helps in the control of the vehicle characteristics such as the speed of the fan, the climate in the vehicle and regulation retort enthusiasm. This system helps in improvement of the 2016 system efficiency compared to the previous generations of the common models. The 1.5l turbo engine is also economical in that it has an economy rate of 1l/15km. The engine also meets the emission standards of EPA LEV3-ULEV125/LEV30.

The turbocharged system has a higher power and torque characterized by forced induction. It is said that smaller engines of the same class have a better performance than the naturally aspirated ones that resemble a similar performance on the driving schedule of the EPA’s granny- like driving timetable. If a comparison of two Honda Civic sedan both with CVT is made with one of them having a 174hp and a 1.5l with four cylinders and another one with a horsepower of 158 and 2.0l that is naturally aspirated, the turbo civic holds a rating of 31/42 mpg at one mpg edge. On a 300 mile road mixed with rural and urban characteristics, the cars displayed equal thrift holding at 40mpg. The turbo system wins with a 30-90mph which gives it a 6mpg advantage merited amid 40-55mph.

The 2016 Honda Civic 1.5l turbo engine displays good qualities of a modern generation. Its 174 horsepower is outstanding and superior compared to many other vehicles. All its units have been combined to give it enough power to navigate through the urban and rural setting in a better way compared to the previous generations of the same model. Its 1l/15km fuel consumption is fantastic since it saves a lot of fuel on its journeys. All through, the quality fuel consumption and the high throttle, as well as the high horsepower, gives it an outstanding look raising it to a world class. The vehicle is also offered at an affordable price which makes it more attractive and better than many cars in the world that would be parallel to its class.
