I have always believed that one should be reasonable. Reasonable in actions and expectations. I always set goals at around 80% of what is possible for me. I am a logical person and every action I take is only after careful inspection of what is possible. I always check for the boundaries of what I can do and keep my goals withing this acceptable boundaries. I have always believed that there are limitations to everything in life and to achieve anything, it is important to accept and remain in these limitations. Well I have been wrong. If you notice all the people who have achieved what they wanted, the common thing is their ability to break limitations. They always aim for things which the world thinks impossible and possible silly. They put in efforts which are way to much and unconventional. And this is how they break these limitations.
By being unreasonable. Being unreasonable means not accepting any limitations. It means doing things which everyone thinks is too much or not logical. It means trying to achieve things that is not just impossible to do, but impossible to dream. So this is going to be my mission for the coming year. I plan to achieve it by these two activities.
It is very important to have goals. Goals which are measurable and specific. But this time I plan to make my goals unreasonably big. When I set goals before I observed that I could never complete them till the deadline. Even when I reduced by goals, the same thing happened. Parkinson’s law say that “Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”.
How can you achieve your 10 year plan in the next 6 months? — Peter Thiel Unreasonable goals keep me alert. They help me focus. They will ensure that I am always 100% aware of what I want to achieve and I do not waste my time on anything else.
Massive thoughts must be followed by massive actions — Grant Cardone .The only way to achieve the unreasonable goals is to take unreasonable actions. Unreasonable actions are the one that separate the average from the extra-ordinary. Actually I set those unreasonable goals, so that I have to take unreasonable actions. Actions 10X what I used to take. Because at the end of the day it is the actions that count.
I have always had average goals and taken average actions to achieve them. With this new mission, I am going to try to achieve things which are impossible. There is nothing to loose.
