Operation Geronimo: Aftermath of Osama Bin Laden's Death

Introduction

In May 2011, It was reported that the U.S. government killed Osama Bin Laden in an operation Geronimo. This put a strain on U.S. citizens because they no longer felt safe in their country. This also raised a lot of curiosity wondering what was next for the Al-Qaeda group since their leader was Kilt. For some reason, people didn’t understand that Osama Bin Laden killed thousands of Americans and destroyed families along the road for example the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Events like this destroyed so many lives and to this day the U.S. is still trying to recover from it.

Operation Geronimo: Help or Destruction

The question really is did the killing of Osama Bin Laden really help or destroy the U.S. considering the terror threats we faced previously before his death? Most likely everyone in the U.S. would agree that it was a good thing he was gone, but they were still thoughts of something worse happening due to his killing. Bin Laden had a lot of people under his wing, he had everyone brainwashed into killing other people that were their lives. 'Al-Qaeda 'central' was already in decline prior to its leader's death, but Al-Qaeda remains a very real threat. Especially potent are its regional affiliates (al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, al-Qaeda in Iraq, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb) and closely related terrorist organizations (Boot)”. An article in the US Times would say no as well in this world there are going to be terrorist attacks all the time the key is to stop them before they even try to complete it. The US security is at the most strict is has ever been and will always be now after the horrible tragedy on September 11th, 2001. Before Bin Laden died he had multiple terrorist attacks lined up. Bin Laden was one of the most intelligent people in the world, coming up with multiple ways to blow up buildings and kill innocent people.

The Ongoing Challenges in Third-World Countries

There is an abundant amount of facts that are going on in these third-world countries. In the short story, Amar explains that the “Islamic State is perhaps the most aggressive invading force in the Levant since the Mongols.” He later continues to explain to the audience the rise of the Islamist State. The author first speaks about Bin Laden and what he envisioned and the implosion between Syria and Iraq. They also mention a few other countries such as Egypt, London, the United States, and many more. The author mentions many horrible events that took place within all of these countries such as 9/11. He continues to talk about the separation between the West and the middle east. With that being said everything finally caught up to him and he was killed. “The device was given to the CIA by a government outside Yemen, officials said. The White House said President Obama was informed of the discovery in April by John Brennan, his top counter-terrorism advisor, and was assured it did not pose a threat to the public.' (Dilanian, Bennett).

“Despite the timing, U.S. officials said they did not believe the device was to be used to mark the first-anniversary last week of the killing of Osama bin Laden, or the start of U.S. military tribunal proceedings against five men accused of orchestrating the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001”. (Dilanian, Bennett). Al Qaeda is never going to give up on trying to destroy the US; there coming up with ways to make explosives to smuggle onto planes without the metal detectors to catch them. Luckily the CIA found out about it and the government is doing their best to test this and find out what their thought process is to make these kinds of explosives. Al Qaeda leaders are trying to find ways to destroy the world one attack at a time.

Unveiling Bin Laden's Plots and Intentions

Not only was Osama Bin Laden trying to kill citizens of countries, he was trying to do the unthinkable and kill our own President Barack Obama. “The man bin Laden hoped would carry out the attacks on Obama was the Pakistani terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri “Please ask brother Ilyas to send me the steps he has taken into that work,” bin Laden wrote to his top lieutenant, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman. A month after bin Laden’s death, Kashmiri was the main man (Ignatius).” The United States found these articles from the home where Bin Laden was staying when he was killed; one of the plots was to kill Barack Obama. Now the US says there was no threat on this that has been taken yet but you never when this could happen. Every day this could happen and the United States would take the worst tragedy by far into history.

But nothing will change. Thousands of madrassas are teaching hatred against the West, and many of them are right in European countries. You go to a madrassah in Southall, London, and you won't see any difference from a madrassah in Peshawar (Abel)”.

'The killing of Osama will not make a difference unless you eliminate all the breeding grounds of the madrassahs, and it is 25 years too late for that (Abel)”. After the killing of bin Laden people would think that everything is back to normal and that it was a happy day when he was shot dead. It was a happy day but don’t get me wrong but it will never stop, soon there will be another leader that is even worse than him and before you know it there will be another tragedy. So before everyone starts living their life like nothing is wrong in the world we have to be cautious every day because in the world these days these groups are too big to stop. These groups were made over 30 years ago or even longer and now there are so many people in them it’s literally impossible to stop.

Conclusion

The conclusion is that there is no time in the world to sit back and enjoy life because plots are being made every second to destroy the United States and other countries just so groups like Al Qaeda can take over the world and rule it.
