Personal Experience of Moving to Apartment in New Hyde Park

Transitioning from my old apartment in Flushing to my new co-op in New Hyde Park was an interesting experience. Flushing was like a mini Times Square no matter what time of the day. The building in Flushing that I used to live in was extremely unsanitary with little to minimal cleaning. It was common to see cockroaches crawling down the walls with speed and sometimes they would surprise you by flying and landing on you. There were also a lot of high end people who used to hang out downstairs in the lobby area and whom I used to avoid. As I was driving to my new house in New Hyde Park I realized that the main road where the cars ran along in opposite directions was similar to the main roads in Flushing. However, as I turned on the new street where my new co-op was I realized that it was a quiet area and I also noticed that the neighbors were really nice and welcoming. This was the first new area in my life where I got used to and quickly adapted to. After stepping foot onto this block, I didn’t even get any flashbacks from the time I lived in Flushing.

There has been news that has been going on since nearly three months now and to me it’s something that is really scary and interesting. This news was regarding the homicide of Karina Vetrano. Karina was jogging at Sunset Creek Park during early evening and a couple of hours later her body was discovered by her father and Police face down with a lot of bruises and cuts and with a possible sign of sexual assault deep in the marshes/weeds on August 2, 2016. What both scared and interested me was that Karina and her father routinely used to run in this path where there were humongous weeds, but the day she ran in the path alone she was murdered. A lot of questions came up in my mind such as who would brutally commit this suicide, was this someone Karina knew, why was Karina running alone, or was this Karina’s stalker? What shocked me even more was that it was during early evening and during that time in the Summer it’s broad daylight outside. Another interested thing that I noted that before Karina was killed, another female jogger was killed in the same way in Michigan and six days later a Google employee who lived here in New York was killed in Massachusetts after visiting her parents and running at a park nearby. Maybe there is one serial killer who is behind all these attacks? Hopefully this killer is caught soon because at this point he poses a threat to female joggers. Today I was standing outside the window taking in the breeze and vitamin D from the sun when I saw one bird peek into my window. It was trying to say something to me but it was hard for me to comprehend. Then, I had an idea I went into my refrigerator to grab two pieces of white bread and I placed it outside my window. Within minutes the little bird grabbed the pieces and flew away and ate them on the ground. While she was eating, she was joined by a flock of other birds, who tried to steal the two pieces of bread that I provided for the first one. In order to resolve this problem, I got four more pieces of bread and I just threw it where all the birds sat. I was happy to see everyone eating their own share and I still felt like it wasn’t enough because of the way I saw those birds tearing through the bread. After a while the entire flock flew away and it brought me ease to see them flying away in satisfaction. As I was leaving my relative’s house just one long block down scary images and thoughts creeped up in my mind as I was surrounded by pitch Black darkness and complete silence. There are cars that usually pass by this time but at this point there were none. This place reminds me of a zombie apocalypse that looked like it wiped out everyone. I walked on the streets to avoid a possibility of an ambush as exactly thought about in my mind. I heard a rustling noise behind me and I turned around to see what it was and if anyone was stalking me. I looked at some windows in my area and saw some lights, which brought ease to my heart as I knew there were some people that are wake. It was really spooky for me because I thought that I was the prey and there was someone out to get me. After a few minutes, I reached home and then I locked my doors delighted to be home.

The engineering and internal design of the tower case for a gaming PC is always something that interests me and gets me curious. Gaming PC’s usually have a very large motherboard (electrical circuit board of the computer) which it complements with the largest form factor (Size and shape) available ATX (Advanced Technology Extended). Gaming PC’s also have a very powerful video card or graphics card with a lot of RAM(memory), high end resolution for output on the monitor, and their own cooling fans. What interests me is that I usually see CPU’s (Central Processing Unit) with their fans, but not graphics cards. Also, Gaming PC’s have a powerful sound card that support surround sound, which makes the user feel a part of the game. Finally, the last thing that interests me is the whole idea of a Liquid Cooling System. There are colorful pipes that flow from a water tank to the essential parts of the Gaming PC that generate a lot of heat and flows back to the water tank. This complex system interests me as I wonder how technology is progressing day by day.
