My Travel Aspirations: Why I Want to Visit Dubai

As of July 2017, Dubai ranks number 10 on the list of the World’s best locations for a holiday, compiled by the US News and World report. Another statistic ranks Dubai as the third busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic. Well, it can be agreed with doubt that a lot of people come by this way; and they like it too!

It’s not hard to see why it is that millions of tourists visit Dubai every year and leave satisfied- the larger than life attractions, the international culinary scene, the well-maintained Gulf shoreline and the unparalleled levels of luxury that some of the hotels here have, to offer.

Some of Dubai’s most popular attractions include: the tallest building in the world, The Burj Khalifa; the third tallest and one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, The Burj Al Arab; an indoor ski centre, amidst the Arabian desert, Ski Dubai; and world class shopping destinations such as the Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates.

Heritage sites such as the Dubai Museum and the Saeed Al Maktoum House are places you’ve got to pay a visit to, if you’re the type of person who majored in World Heritage, with flying colors. Well, either ways, heritage sites in Dubai are worth a visit, and definitely won’t leave you unsatisfied.

If cosmopolitan attractions are not your thing, don’t worry- Dubai’s got you covered! Dubai is home to some of the best maintained beaches in the world. Adventures such as the dessert safari, mountain climbing, and deep sea diving, will keep your adrenaline at the right levels. Come and visit the beaches at the right time of the year, and you’ll get your summer tan on point.

Do man-made islands sound intriguing to you? Well then, you’re in for a treat. Dubai is known for it’s break taking engineering feats. The Palm Islands situated off the coast of Dubai, not only house some of the best seaside views and luxury accommodations, but are also a very popular tourist destination, that you might not want to miss.

All this luxury and rich heritage; do you have to be on a six-figure budget to get the most of Dubai?

In a word, no! Dubai has innumerable options when it comes to travelling on a budget. Well maintained, slightly more economical hotels find their way in every district of Dubai. With petrol just slightly costlier than water, and some of the most affordable public transport rates in the world, Dubai opens its doors to travelers on all types of budgets.

A couple of hundred words cannot describe the unforgettable experiences Dubai has to offer. I have been an expat, residing here for the past 10 years and I’ve got to say, I’ve had some of the best experiences of my life. And God, am I going to miss the delicious Emirati Biryanis once I leave. Yup, Arabic cuisine- it’s great!
