The National Collegiate Athletic Association also is known as the NCAA was established in 1906 and is the athletics governing body for more than 1,281 universities in the U.S. The NCAA hosts one of 5the biggest sports tournaments in the world the NCAA march madness tournament. During this tournament TV Channels make over a billion dollars in advertising revenue, this is almost as much a the Super Bowl and the NFL postseason, combined. However, the athletes competing do not get paid at all. The head of the NCAA Mark Emmert admits that athletes do not get paid or accommodated with any form of payment t. As he stated in an interview with CBS. “I can't say often enough, obviously, that student-athletes are students. They’re not employees.” This causes a lot of debating about if these students athletes should or student get paid this is what I will be discussing in this Writhing.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

To be fair the NCAA provides students to go to one of the best universities which will provide them with a remarkable verity of opportunities for free. Yes this is correct if you put the fact beside that you have to get a scholarship 1st which is only 2% of the players in division 1 and 2 combined and occurs Assuming that you won't get injured which can cause you to lose your scholarship as well you have even time to make the lessons which are near to impossible as Current NFL stare Richard Sherman who studied at the Stanford University one of the best in the world. Explained in an interview on CBS. “You wake up in the morning, you have weights at this time. Then after weights, you go to class and after class, you go, you go maybe try to grab you a quick bite to eat. you go straight to meetings and after meetings, you've got practice and after practice, you've got to try to get all the work done you had throughout the day. I would love for a regular student to, to have a student athlete's schedule, during the season, for just one quarter or one semester, and, and show me how you'll balance that”.

Feather more the NCAA does not allow their athletes to not get paid because their schools claim that they could barely afford it, and it true only 14/1100 schools had positive cash flow. But here is the reason why so many schools barely break even. Profit is what's left when you account for expenses. Their fore money loss is often generated by design. Universities find a ton of ways to spend money. For example for stadiums. 7 out of the 10 biggest stadiums in the world are owned by colleges teams.

This just absolutely shows that universities have the money to give to student athletes, but they still don’t and it seems a bit odd when the university student selling you kit gets paid 5 dollars an hour when the at athlete absolutely gets paid nothing. However, your problem thinks that they become milliners when they go pro. But that's, not the case only a very small period con of players goes pro in fact only 2% altogether go pro after a carrier in college sports. This is because the pro leagues only have a limited amount of space that they need to feel due to the fact that athletes from previous years who are already in the pro leagues are there for 30 years sometimes. This means that there is not a high demand of players in these leagues even tho there are a lot of students wanting to go pro this means that the pro teams only chose the best players since they have such a large group of players to pick from.

This though shows why the NCAA does not want to pay there athletes since for overuse reasons the NCAA does not pay the athlete but the colleges do there for this means that the biggest teams would be able to make there UN more attractive then others since they are able to give out a higher pay Rolle then other universities. This there for would make it absolutely unfair for other smaller universes and would pretentiously mean that the smaller Colleges would have no chance of competing with the bigger ones. This would turn college sport completely into a business where the players don’t play anymore for there stat college but rather war they get 2000 bucks more.

This also shows why Mark Emmert the president or the head of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) does not want athletes to get paid because it would take away the feeling of college sport. People are or went to college are very connected to the college no matter what age most of the time if possible families for generations go to the same university. Therefore if college athletics would start to get paid and people would go to the place where they get paid the most this loyalty that the players have with there university get destroyed and the fans would not know if the players play for them or them self.

However, by Paying college athletes will almost certainly increase the problem of stress for a student since now he has to pay for his school by himself. This seems like something better at 1st you don’t have your prances hard work to allow you to go to this school and give you the opportunity of becoming something in your life. Now you are responsible for what happens in your life. And just imagine what this means. Every day you have to perform to the highest level possible on and of the court. Since you have 100 of players across the US and in some sports across the world this means that one bad training and you won’t play or start on the weekend which means that you maybe have way less game time or in some cases not play at all. If it comes to the stage that the university doesn’t see any use in their athletic program they will kick you of the team obviously you would be off the payroll which problem means that you would not be able to pay for your education and your mom or dad would propel not work that hard for you since your field before. As well in class if you are not able to keep up with your work or your grand average drops below 2.3 and you are not eligible to play any more your university does not have use for you anymore and you would not get paid and that age would lead to that you are not able to pay for your addiction anymore.

Theory of Motivation

This is very easy to link to the business theory of motivation. There is no real business definition of this however motivation to do something in any job comes from 'The will to work” Workers are motivated if they enjoy them self at work and because of the desire to achieve certain goals. To achieve this objectives business follow a motivation model. This model is there to prove a system that helps every position in business furthermore it helps with the developing, communicating, and managing of business plans. Therefore in a normal business, the workers can have a say. I don’t mean in business decisions however in what they want, need or what they would like to have changed inside there area of work. This complaint then gets read by the head of a department or the manager where they then get approved or not. When these changes happen this increases the happiness of these workers were therefor the motivation increases which led to higher productivity. Now when we take it back to the NCAA the players are the lowest workforce in this case. These workers got the ability taken away to say anything bad or even suggest changes within the organisation. If they mention anything bad about the organisation they run a risk that they might lose the right to play since it is a violation to mention anything bad about the organisation Weil playing. This means that these workers are absolutely helpless a gent their head of bored. This kind of erases the whole proses, of course, you have to look at the motivation model a bit different since it is a sports organisation. But the motivation of the workers (Athletes) should still be given this means that they should have a voice however they just have to go along with it and accept any rule or limitation that the head of board sets them. The only way the NCAA can do that because it is the easiest way of coming out of high school and proceed a projection courier.

Which is to a very high extent true that you work harder if you see your end goal and you are going to work harder to get there if you are very close to reaching that goal. However, playing in one of the NCAA leagues can be demotivating. 86 percent of college athletes live below the poverty line. Which means that Weil the athletes are not allowed to take any advantages or even take a job to support their family. Further 460,000 student-athletes across all sports in the us and 86 percent of them come from poor backgrounds which mean that there are about 395,600 poor athletes and there are only 150,000 scholarships to be awarded. Therefore so many athletes were the NCAA claims that this motivates these students to work harder to get a scholarship. How can you be motivated if you don’t know if you still going to be going to school next week? Furthermore all of the practices and the classes with that the homework that they have to do. Can get a bit too much as an NCAA stare Richard Sherman once explained after getting asked a question at a super bowl interview press conference about if student-athletes take advantage of there free education.

“No, I don't think college athletes are given enough time to really take advantage of the free education that they're given, and it's frustrating because a lot of people get upset with student-athletes and say they're not focused on school and they're not taking advantage of the opportunity they're given. I would love for a regular student to have a student-athlete's schedule during the season for just one quarter or one semester and show me how you balance that. Show me how you would schedule your classes when you can't schedule classes from 2-to-6 o'clock on any given day. Show me how you're going to get all your work done when after you get out at 7:30 or so, you've got a test the next day, you're dead tired from practice and you still have to study just as hard as everybody else every day and get all the same work done. Most of these kids are done with school, done with class by 3 o'clock, you've got the rest of the day to do as you please. You may spend a few hours studying, then you may spend a few hours at the library checking out books and doing casual reading, and then you may go hang out with friends and have a coffee. When you're a student-athlete, you don't have that kind of time. You wake up in the morning, you have weights at this time. Then after weights, you go to class and after class, you go maybe try to grab you a quick bite to eat. Then after you get your quick bite to eat, you go straight to meetings and after meetings, you've got practice and after practice, you've got to try to get all the work done you had throughout the day you've got from your lectures and from your focus groups. And those aren't the things that people focus on when talking about student-athletes. They are upset when a student-athlete says they need a little cash. Well, I can tell you from experience, I had negative -40 bucks in my account. Usually, my account was in the negative more time than it was in the positive. You've got to make decisions on whether you get gas for your car or whether you get a meal for the day. You've got one of the two choices.” It is worth munching that these are his own asinine and there for this information may be bias however this shows it is incredibly hard for a student athlete to keep up with his work and manage his time since this can be so demotivating and frustrating if you, for example, have to stay up until like 4 am just to study for a paper you are righting the next day. You then have to weak up the next day having to do your hole day securely and if you say just the smallest thing that you are too tired or something like that your coach will tell you that you are not on scholarship for school but for the sports that you send up for.

However, you probably are getting preacher as well from your parents that you have to do well in school and get your degree in whatever. Subject to have a backup plan if you don’t make it or if you get injured. This deviation can absolutely tear you apart because you know that you have to play well because otherwise you will lose your scholarship and will probably not be able to attend any lessons any and still perform at a 100%

To conclude and to answer the question if it is acceptable for the NCAA to not pay or accommodate student-athletes. You would have to say no it isn’t. However, the problem is not solved directly with awing universities to paying their players due to the problems that would accrue mentioned above. However, The NCAA has to find some way to support the players and their families. As well some rules have to be changed for example that the universities have to still support their players even if they can't play anymore due to injuries they should not be allowed to just take their scholarship away from these students. Further on some rules have to be a bit loosened for example that players are not allowed to do a job in there free time or accept smaller gifts from the family or from someone else on there birthday however it must be mentioned that these things still have to be. Regulated to a current ascent.
