Removed Children: Two Main Reasons

A child is removed by two main mechanisms these are care by court order this is when a court or a judge has issued the child to be removed from their parents and this is often done by not getting parents choose to do this as they may disagree. Agreement of parents is the second type of removal this is when the children is placed under the care of the local authority if the parent has agreed to their child being removed and hey want them removed. There different reasons why children may be looked after or be removed from their parents as family related reason, as these can affect children which they need more care or to have support as their family has issues going on.

However the first main points can bereavement or loss of a parent this can be difficult time for children as they will may not still understand what’s happened which will cause them to not to control their feelings. This can cause children to fall behind in their education and may have a difficulty of learning, even if they go in their ability of concentration will reduces as this is a factor that can affect the child in the future. The second main point is parental Illness or incapacity this is when aren’t are ill and are unable to look after their children ad this is a reason why children re being removed. This is when the child needs to be looked after as they will not be getting the correct care that they need in their home which it can affect them in the future. During the meantime, they may spend this time with temporary foster parents, in a children’s residential home or school. This will affect the child as their family has been breaking down to and that they are all split up. This can have effect of the child’s behaviour changing as they may be feeling lonely.

The third main point is suspected or actual maltreatment this is another type of issue why children may be removed from their family. This might also happen if there is suspected abuse taking place. The safety of the children/young person is the most important factor. This can affect the child not have changes which that can last for long term and it can affect them not getting correct care because they ant build trust again with other people. Fourthly children and young people related reason can be why they are removed of their houses. A child or young person may need to leave home because of their own health related reasons as it is difficult for the family to be able to care for and support them, and so alternative arrangements may need to be made on a temporary or long-term basis.

They also can have behavioural problems that can lead children and young people to be removed as stress at home can cause the child to perform poorly in school and fall behind. It can lead the child to start miss behaving which will have an impact on their emotions and health. Also stress within the house can cause the child to feel unloved or left out of the family. Or the family may not have the correct skills to look after their child this can affect them to having to remove their child. Fifth point that can lead children to be removed is having a learning difficulty as a lot of the families can’t cope with the challenges that their child is causing them in the house. They can feel stressed and lonely because it’s too hard for them to look after and to care for their own child.

Also disability is a point of children being removed as they may feel as though a lot of demands are being made on them and they may find it difficult to cope. Or the family can’t provide specialist for their child which they may feel like removing them from home and putting them in to a care. Lastly if a young person has committed an offence this is a removal because Law or the court may decide that the family is unable to look after that young person and cause them to be removed.
