“The most lethal sniper in the history of America.” This is the greatest award for a sniper. This book has stood out to me mainly because I have family in the service and I have an idea of what they go through in Iraq. Chris Kyle writes an amazing book that has become my favorite autobiography. This autobiography does an extraordinary job of showing how it is to be a Seal. In addition, it follows the story of a hero and a family man even though he has to tour the world to fight in wars. He still makes time for his family and his wife. This book has shown me to be more engaging with both of my younger brothers.
This book has informed me about topics. For example, it has illustrated how hard work can pay off. At the start of “BUDS” (Basic Underwater Demolition), BUDS is the first and last part of the training to end up a SEAL’s. Chris Kyle knew he’s going to get through it due to the fact he had a better work ethic than everyone else. The most challenging part of SEAL’s training is Hell Week. Hell Week is towards the end of BUDS and is the most common week for recruits to end drop out. Chris worked through all of the pain and graduated training. Only 10 percent of the recruits that start BUDS schooling finish it. Kyle was one that finished it and became a SEAL. The book has also shown me how to appreciate my own family. Chris served from 1999-2009 while raising a boy and his daughter. The thing he cared about the most in the whole world was their protection while he was overseas. Chris Kyle is truly a great person and is a perfect example of how we should live.
The setting of the book American Sniper has a massive effect on the plot. The setting transfers between Southern California and Iraq. The book shows us how the conditions are for citizens and soldiers in Iraq. The weather, streets, transportation, and type of living is outright terrible. The book American Sniper shows the catastrophe that Iraq is in right now. It uses figurative language and imagery to show the Middle East. In addition, he describes the horrifying scenes of conflict and how crucial it is for Chris Kyle and all his comrades. In California, Kyle explains PTS or (Post Traumatic Stress) and the way the critical circle of relatives makes a big difference. The book adds Taya’s opinion. Taya is Chris’s wife. This is another one of the additions of American Sniper. Taya is always involved while Chris is deployed especially once they had the 2 kids. Taya’s attitude is outstanding and suggests what a middle person might think about on the subject of war. She plays a huge element in assisting Chis to end up an ordinary person when he is between tours. Chris says, “my biggest priorities are God, U. S. A., and family.” Faith became very important to him, his relatives and growing up in Texas changed him into the soldiers he is today. Since the county became so important to Kyle he enlisted wanting to be in the Special Forces. This book is inspiring, motivational and emotional. I wanted to thank Chris Kyle for his services and for writing this amazing book. This book is a great read and I think Teens and young adults should read this and be educated on the number of sacrifices the men and women who fight for our freedom every single day.
