A group of friends are gathered for dinner and the subject of discussion is, changing-in professions, relations and marriage and family. One of the existing claims that the change doesn't bother him at all after he's heard a humorous little story called Who Moved My Cheese.
In this elegant manner, the writer brings the public to his folk tale about how to cope effectively with change. The tale is made up of four-character who reside in a maze, the two mice- Sniff and Scurry, and two small people, Hem and Haw. They are all going well as they have found a large supply of their most liked food, cheese. The little people have even shifted their residences to be next to it, and it has become the core of their life. Yet they did not realize that it's getting small, and they are distraught when they get to the site one day and found the cheese has disappeared
The tale here gets divided in two. Both the mice instantly accept the fact about the loss of cheese and went to the maze insight of other outlets. The Little people, because they've developed their life around big cheese, assume they're the target of some kind of scam. But this only makes things harder, because they're struggling to make sure they are going hungry. In the meantime, the mice have moved on and to found new cheese.
The story depicts well the time after we have lost the job or a relation so we feel it's the end of the thing. All the good deeds were in the immediate situation and all the grip of the future is doubtful. But the writer point is rather than treating change as the end of a thing, we should try to perceive it as the starting of something new. We all know this, but sometimes there is a lack of motivation. To make himself realize a truth, 'If you don't change you can become extinct' was written by Haw on the wall of the maze.
It requires a level of risk and adventure for life not to be wasted. If you're ready to live this manner, change may lose its fear. In reality, the developing person deliberately causes change even though the universe is not the way they would like it at the present. What the Little people learn is that cracking your fears sets you free.
Whereas the book discusses the possibility of change in all areas of our lives, considering how many workplaces it gets spread, this would be correct to say that its key message applies to work. Many workers are workers because they choose the stability of stable salaries to the perceived freedom of large companies. To others, the main advantage may be that they don't really have to worry for most of the day; they just complete their tasks but such dependency restrictions, affect personal growth.
