Not very long ago fashion was seemed to be a thing of the elite in the society. Only the rich were the only people who could afford flashy and fashionable products. But that has however changed as “everyday dressing incorporates some form of fashion” (Rocamora & Smelik 2016). Even the less fortunate in the society can afford less costly fashionable clothes. The fashion industry has grown rapidly over the years. New fashion industries are emerging bring competition in the market thus lowering the prices. Fashion is a term commonly used globally to describe clothing and footwear accessories. The rapid evolution of technology has played a crucial role in revolutionizing the clothing industry. Most manufacturing companies nowadays use advanced machines in their production and thus improving the quality and quantity.

Most people prefer quality products. This is because quality may last longer compared to poorly made or low-quality product. Manufacturing companies that have adopted the use of technology make more profits due increase in volume sales. Technology has further transformed the world into a small village were suppliers can reach their customers all over the world as long as there are connected to the internet. Businesses that use technology have a larger customer base compared to the ones that do use technology. For instance, Gucci which is one of the most popular fashion stores in the world sells its products online. As a result, people from all parts of the world can purchase their quality products online. Many people are always reluctant to give their credit cards information online, fearing that they may be conned or duped. Cybercrime cases have been on the rise in the twenty-first century and therefore people must exercise extreme caution when purchasing products from the online stores. Most of the online fashion stores are not genuine. They are run by fraudsters who trick people into revealing their credit card information and then stealing from them. There have been complaints raised against online payment systems. Internet security is a major global challenge in this century. Online fashion stores must ensure the security of their customers is guaranteed. Large and established fashion stores have suppliers all over the world who help in delivering the products. Without a doubt, the fashion industry is increasingly taking the world by storm.

In most countries such as the United States of America, China, and India, the fashion industry is booming due to the ready availability of raw materials and labor. Majority of the other fashion stores shop their products form either China or India where the costs are relatively cheap. Labor and availability of raw materials play a major role in determining the price of the commodity. Cotton, which is a major raw material in the clothing industry is largely produced in China, India, Pakistan and the United States of America. Of late, cotton producers have been experiencing escalating cotton prices which in turn adversely affects the textile industry. Their several factors may be attributed to the increase in the cotton prices. The most common reason is the scarcity of the raw material. When the cotton prices escalate, it is the farmers who benefit while the textile industry bears the burden of the harsh impacts. Due to the increasing shortage of the raw materials, the clothing industry has been affected negatively.

Businesses have been rushing to the available stocks thus increasing the prices of their products. Others have resulted in laying off workers in a bid to remain in the game. It is worth noting that just like any organization when the supply of the raw material decreases it is the employees who suffer the most. Most organizations start the restructuring process, therefore, laying off a number of employees. Majority of the well-established clothing industries such as Gucci and Diesel have managed to establish a strong customer base over the years through their brands. Building a strong company’s brand may propel the business into the success.

A company’s brand is what differentiates it from the other businesses. Branding improves the business the business recognition and makes it more popular and known to people. One of the best elements that fashion companies use for branding is their company’s logo. For instance, a customer may be able to identify and differentiate a Nike product by the logo. The logo makes the product unique and therefore customers do not have a hard time searching for the product. However, nowadays there are fraudulent suppliers who use established company’s logo such as Gucci in order to fast-sale their stock. This is legally unacceptable and the consequences may be unbearable. The law is very clear that companies cannot share logos. Just the same individuals may not share the same identification number details. Companies that violate that law risk being closed indefinitely or fined heavily. Another important reason for creating a brand for your organization is the fact branding increases trust in the customers. Customers always prefer purchasing goods from legitimately established and known companies. It would be very difficult to convince people to purchase products or goods from a newly established online fashion store. With the increase in the cases of cybercrimes and internet insecurity, customers would definitely bother to buy products from well-established and known online fashion stores such as Gucci and Nike.

The best performing and successful fashion industries are not the ones that have high capital but the ones that deliver what the customers want. Customers have different tests and preferences, giving customers what they want ensures their needs and wants are met. Fashion evolves with technology and time. The current generation preferences may be quite different from the 1950s generation. Fashion industries must evolve with the generations in order to remain relevant. People’s choice of clothes changes within a very short span of time. For instance, it can be noted that during the early days of football, players used to wear horrible (compared to the modern time) football kits.

The football kits were ugly designed and had no collars. The first sportswear manufacturer was the Bukta, established in 1879. The manufactured long-sleeved jerseys and shorts that were tight fitting. The design, however, faded over the years and currently, it is the goalkeepers who often wear long-sleeved shirts. The design of the sportswear has significantly improved over the years. Nowadays, football jerseys are one of the most sources of income for the football clubs. Originally, football was a game of everyone that had no strict rules. As a result, the game would at most time times turn violent and people would get hurt. Players had no uniforms, they would wear anything on the pitch as they played the game. Not until 1879, the English Football Association (FA) came up with rules that required each team to wear unique uniforms that would distinguish the players in the pitch. The color of the uniforms dependent on the school or the universities the players came from. Unlike the modern football, the earlier football shirts had no sponsors. Basically, the fashion industry has played a big role in revolutionizing the football kits over the years.
