Is a cultural and artistic movement in England that extended from the early 16th century until the early 17th century. This renaissance is an extension of the general renaissance in Europe, which back many historians to Tuscany in the fourteenth century.

The word renaissance is seen as a rebirth of the learning of ancient Greece and Rome, which let people interested in classical learning of Greece and Rome art. In the period between the 16th and 17th centuries, there was a big impact on English literature, some of the literature subjects change from religious subjects to subjects which concerned with the love and pleasure of humans. The most famous writer who lived in this period is William Shakespeare, who wrote many poems and poets like Hamlet and Romeo and Joliet. Also, there many great writers appear in the period of the renaissance like John Milton who wrote the famous tragedian epic ' paradise lost', and Christopher Marlowe, the writer of ' Doctor Faustus'. At the end of the renaissance, different kinds of literary works were written in English rather than in Latin.

During the 18th century, most of the literary works in this period were focused in social revolution, criticism of society and politics, and satire. At the end of this century, literary themes were changed from political to romance, imagination, and emotion. Many types of novels were written in the 18th century, sentimental novels, gothic novels, libertine novels, and others. The big point of literary history is the dictionary of the English language which was written by Samuel Johnson in that time.

Romeo and Juliet is a play written by Shakespeare, and it is a tragic love story. The main characters are Romeo and Juliet as they are supposed to be enemies but they fall in love. What is more, the two characters kill themselves because they cannot stay away from each other or be separated from one another. This play is a Shakespearean tragedy, it is about the conflict between the main character's love, and falling in love in the first time they each other, but they could not be together as their family is enemies.

All play is around the love story between Romeo and Juliet, who fall in love in a party, but unfortunately, they are from families that hate each other and they are sure they will not get married to each other. Romeo and Juliet have a friend whose name is Friar Laurence who helps them marry in a secret. Before the wedding night, there was a duel between Romeo and Juliet's cousin, at the end of the duel, Romeo killed Juliet's cousin so he was forced to leave Juliet and if he return to the city, they will kill him. Juliet was forced by their parents to marry in Paris and her parents did not know that she is actually married. In the beginning, she refuses but later she accepts because she put in her mind a plan that she will let her family that she dies but in fact she is not, to be with Romeo forever, of course with Laurence's help. Romeo does not know about the plan, he thought that Juliet is really dead and he always visits her grave. So, Romeo killed himself, and when Juliet finally woke up, she discovers that Romeo is dead and then she killed herself.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play and it has many challenges facing the main characters, and it talks about a great love story between them and how they fight to be and live together by marriage. What is more, they live with two enemy families which they have many problems and wars between them, so that why the main characters Romeo and Juliet cannot live together.
