The Age of Exploration was a period from the early 15th century to the early 17th century. This was a period when European ships traveled around the world in such new trading routes and partners to feed capitalism in Europe. The age of exploration was the beginning of new technologies that were growing out of the Renaissance. This was a prime ear for the development of cartography, shipbuilding, and navigation. Leaders during this time were fighting over finding new sea routes and competing to advance their sailing technology.
The Latin American Wars of independence were the revolutions during the 18th and 19 centuries. The Latin American Wars of Independence was followed by the American and French Revolution. Soon after the French Revolution causing political instability, Napoleon Bonaparte took power. However, only to do more damage, such as destabilizing the Latin American colonies. Later on, Simon Bolivar, who was an influential activist in the Latin American Independence movement, regained power. He helped push Latin America to what it is modern-day.
The Lain American independence movement was officially launched into action a year after Simon Bolivars return. Bolivar was eager to participate in several conspiratorial meetings and work whomever to help Latin America. Simon Bolivar's work was regarded by many as the greatest genius in Latin America. The result of Bolivars' work during the Latin American Independence movement was significant for Latin America's foundation. These wars resulted in the creation of several countries in Latin America.
One of the works from the period was a medal of Simon Bolivar. The medal is referred to as the Salves Statue Ignoration medal of 1846. The medal cormorants the emancipation of the slaves depicted in a variety of forms through the Atlantic world. The front side of the coin paints a relief picture of the statue of Simon Bolivar, which was erected in the Plaza Mayor, Bogota, Colombia. The opposite side features an image of Bolivar holding a piece of paper freeing two adults of slavery. The coin was made in 1846 of sterling silver with demotions of 48.58mm.;57.96 gms. The two artists Tenerani and C. Vogit both hand-engraved their side of the coin. The Slaves statue ignoration medal represents a historical moment in Latin American history that will be remembered and honored forever.
