The term and ideas was presented by French sociologist Emile Durkheim in the year 1893. As per Durkheim, the sorts of social solidarity relate with kinds of society, which are mechanical and natural social orders. Mechanical solidarity essentially mirrors the how individuals are associated through comparable work, instructive and strict way of life. Natural solidarity chiefly shows the association that emerges from specialization of work and the integrants between people groups which happens because of modernization and mechanical social orders. Organic solidarity is found in societies where there is a complex division of work and assorted variety of methods of critical analysis, feelings and acting. I came to an understanding that the societies with the undifferentiated work by which I mean primitive societies have displayed mechanical solidarity while to the opposite of these societies with a high division of work, or expanded specialization which implies the modern societies showed organic solidarity. The division of labor rendered laborers more alien to each other but then progressively dependent upon each other. In a mechanical solidarity social attachment and joining originates from the homogeneity of people which means individuals feel associated through comparable work, instructive and strict preparing and way of life, which is regularly founded on the connection ties of familial systems. Mechanical solidarity fundamentally works in 'traditional' and small-scale societies. Moving to organic solidarity is cohesion dependent on the reliance people have on one another in further developed social orders. It originates from the relationship that emerges from specialization of work and the complementarities between individuals. As stated by Durkheim the laws of a society are the most noticeable image of social solidarity and the association of public activity in its generally exact and stable structure. The legal system controls all pieces of society with the goal that they cooperate adequately. The sort of laws; repressive and restitutive law compares with the kind of social solidarity. It might be a society with strong values and religious beliefs but therefore the only thing that makes a society interdependent or self-reliant one is determined by the type of solidarity present.
