The biggest lie is that money and recognition will 100 percent give you success and happiness and in the following essay I will argument why I think so.
Growing up I always thought money is a big differentiator in life and becoming rich will make me successful and happy. I started working hard, making studies my priority, and performing great in exams while ignoring all other important things around me. I constantly reminded myself that I am slowly reaching my goal and I should be happy, but it was not working it felt like an element was missing and there was a void that I could feel. Somehow the future me was much is happier than the present is me. Obsessing over what is going to happen in the future resulted in me not living in the present.
I thought about this for a while, but could not understand what was wrong, so I decided to distract myself and got involved in activities outside of class. Surprisingly, this turned out to be the best decision I could have ever made. It opened doors for all kinds of opportunities for me, I experienced something which felt complete and real. In the process, I meet some wonderful people and made lifelong friends, and found my passion for badminton. The amount of joy badminton gives me is indescribable It gets me so involved that there was no room to think about the future, I feel alive. For the first time, I truly could understand the meaning of success. Which was not money and recognition, but much bigger than that.
When I was younger 4 to 6 p.m. was the time I was allowed to go out and play, I was asked to study hard and become “Successful” but the entire day I used to wait for 4:00 p.m. to happen, I would step out, and then the next 2 hours would feel like 5 minutes. I didn’t understand this then, but now all I wish for is to live the 4 to 6 p.m. life.
Once you are passionate about something it commands your attention so much that there is nothing else that you can think about, so handwork doesn’t feel like handwork and you start to persist talent and cultivate vision, which increases your focus. This specific event changed my perspective about life and taught me that living for your passion is the biggest success in life anyone could get. We should be grateful for what we have and not leave a single event to cherish it.
I believe that life is short and constantly thinking about the future eliminates your chance to live it, so enjoy every bit of it and do whatever makes you feel contented. Success is ultimately not how much you earn or how much people recognize you it is all about doing what you love without bothering about the outcome because nothing is permanent in life. Do things that encourage you to earn something that counts.
