Swahili is a African spoken language spoken by four different nations and many countries. I am going to share with you information about where Swahili is spoken, how many people speak Swahili, the different cultures that speak Swahili, Where Swahili was originally spoken, and the alphabet of the Swahili language. Rather than any other sub-saharan language, Swahili is actually really easy to read. Swahili words sound almost exactly how they appear to be. They are also pronounced the same way they look. Swahili serves as a natural language for about four different nations. These include Tanzania, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Kenya.
The reason that the Muslim culture speaks Swahili is because of the geographical location of the Swahili speaking countries. They became Muslim through the influence of people from the North and also across the Indian Ocean. The term Swahili comes from Arabic ‘sahil’ which means “people of the shore”. The Swahili language is basically Bantu (African) origin. The Arabic language has influenced Swahili and played a major role in the development of the Swahili language. Under this influence Swahili became the primary language for east Africa.
