in this essay, I would like to describe 4 types of modern devices that help in the work of law enforcement agencies. These are the things that make work of law enforcement easier and workers' functions faster and safer.

Robotic cameras

Robotic cameras are the best piece of technology that can help keep police officers out of harm’s way. Robotic cameras are driven by a remote control so they can enter situations that are too dangerous for officers. Officers are making use of the robotic technology to detect bombs or search suspicious hommes and vehicles. It is built with an electric motor and special wheels that allows it to move, climb and explore. The robotic cameras can be operated wirelessly from safety. Automatic license plate recognition is another technology used in Law Enforcement.

Automatic License Plate Recognition

The automatic license plate recognition system is an integrated camera-database technology, meaning the system takes a picture of a car’s licence plate and processes the numbers and letters against a known data base. The numbers and letters on our cars help law enforcement officers determine if the vehicles are stolen or if the owners are wanted. This piece of technology is very helpful for law enforcement officers and can identify, screen and record the licence plate of more vehicles than an entire squad of police officers could handle with greater accuracy and no fatigue factors. This means there is more vehicles apprehended in less time. This piece if technology no officer wants to do without.

Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging is a piece of technology that is used in the medical world but has made its way to the crime scenes. This law enforcement technology gives police officers the ability to see a thermal view of their surroundings, offering an identifiable and reliable “heat picture” of their environment. This small handheld device can help officers locate suspects hiding in a dark building and also investigate crime scenes and conduct search and rescues. Thermal imaging isn’t always used for crime scenes it can be used to rescue someone in a snowstorm where the visibility can be at a minimum.

Gunshot Detection Systems

The gunshot detection systems (GDS) or Shot spotter, is system that shows police officers where a gunshot has just ben fired. This new and still-improving technology uses sensitive audio sensors placed around a neighbourhood to detect gunshots and show officers the exact location. This law enforcement technology helps officer respond faster to gunshot incident, which gives them a le-up on assisting victims and tracking down suspects. Gunshot detection systems technology has the potential to make communities much safer, especially in area, where there aren’t enough officers to be on patrol 24/7.

Most of the other devices are little known to us, and some are just beginning to be mastered. Nevertheless, this is what makes the work of law enforcement officers easier and better.
