Texas: Constitution, Voter Distribution and Demographics

Texas has a government that works under the Texas constitution. Elections in Texas are done after every four years. In recent years, voter turnout has been said to be very low. This is said to be because of the diverse demographics. A great number of people in Texas do not go for voting to cast their vote. In my paper, I will be considering the senatorial position as my key idea. Texas is said to behave a huge number of citizens but they don’t tend to come out for voting. This is because there’s an extremely large number of citizens who are not able to vote according to the Texas constitution. A great number of citizens said to be a third of the population, are under the voting age. Another third of the citizens are illegal immigrants who are not allowed to vote.

Voter distribution and Demographics in Texas is a topic that is very crucial in understanding this. Voter turnout history in Texas is said to be extremely slow. A great number of voters in Texas make sense that lawmakers should work more to make the process of voting to be easier, easily accessible, and also more accurate. The low turnout of voters is said to be because of demographics. Texas is said to be a young state and this brings about a low turnout. A huge number of Texas citizens are said to be of a lower age than the voting age. This corresponds to a third of the Texas population.

Many people that live in Texas are illegal immigrants. These illegal immigrants are ineligible to vote. This ineligibility is brought about by the Texas constitution. In addition, 4.7 million immigrants are said to be ineligible to vote. This is because of their citizenship status. This corresponds to a third of the Texas population. The voting population is said to be much whiter than its population.

The population coming below 65 years is to be much more diverse. This shows that as the old population dies, the number of voters will eventually go down. In the 2020 elections, the number of voters is predictable that it will be much smaller than in recent election turnouts. Texas demographics and voter distribution will help in making a fair decision on who is most likely to be the winner. It might tend to be hard for someone to predict the winning part due to the low turnout of voters. Hegar being the best candidate for the senatorial position, a low turnout of voters may be disadvantageous just because of the sense that opponents' supporters may tend to be in a large number. She advocates job growth in a strong way and also the economy of Texas should be diversified. She says that government should always be transparent and accountable to their citizens.

Texans have a good number of issues that are affecting them as citizens. Some of the great affecting issues are said to include: Abortion, gun control, moral decline, immigration, border security, economy & jobs, and finally health care. Immigration and the economy are said to be the top issues affecting Texas. Immigration and border security are said to be factors that help control and also bring about security to Texans and also Texas. Gun control will also enhance security to Texans. Health care being a fundamental factor needs to be considered.

For Hegar to win as the senator for Texas, she has to put all these factors into consideration. She should make border security as one of the key campaign points. Texans factor security as the major factor as it is very important. She must advocate for an increasing number of security officers for enhancing border security. She should also put gun control as a major factor and start a committee that will be in charge of all licensed guns in the state. This will help in bringing about security to be Texans. This, in turn, should also create jobs for the citizens of Texas. This will also help reduce poverty and the number of unemployed citizens in Texas. Health care being one of the major issues affecting Texans, for Hager to emerge the winner in the 2020 elections, she must ensure that health care is one of her top agendas that she will address after she his elected the senator to Texas.

Interest groups tend to bring a great impact to the politics of Texas. These groups tend to support candidates who try to listen and support their views in hope of getting favors after the candidate wins. The NRA, which is an organization that supports candidates who support the second amendment rights believe in gun rights and has their own advocacy group for it. A political committee (PAC) collects funds and controls the distribution to the candidates who support them. These three organizations are said to possibly affect the 2020 elections. This is because they have a huge number of followers who supports them and also listen to them.

Texas being a state where not everyone votes and more people should start to vote so that the best leader is voted. It’s clearly predictable that the 2020 elections may have a lower number of voters from the previous diminishing number of voters. Hager being has lost by only 3% shows that in the 2020 election she will eventually be the winner. In her speech, she said that the leader to Texas should be reflective to the people. This shows that Hegar fits to be the senator for Texas for the 2020 election.
