In my understanding, I observed two major reasons on his letter. The first one, the author begins with; letter mostly referred to his son, and wanted to correct his life inaccuracy if he gets a chance once. At the same time, he hoped to his personal autobiography letter to teach for his son as well as for the generation to learn from his former life experience; however, the reader did not know about the main clue for his previous life fault to perceive the message.
The writer also did not identify what kind of mistake did. The second reason, he mentioned about his successes and richness in his life, but he never apprised his son what types of achievement he did in his life. Generally, person prosperity can be evaluated in many ways, such as accomplishment in wealth, education, family, love, and others. In autobiography of Franklin letter did not notice any of them.
In summary, I think, in my understanding, Franklin autobiography writing letter was not a full of specified explanations about "his" stories. He wrote a general idea, and more complicated to understand the purpose of his letter.
