The Analysis of Lord of The Flies

In the book Lord of the Flies science is symbolized through piggy’s glasses“Ralph moved the lenses back and forth, this way and that, till a glossy white image of the decline sun lay on a piece of rotten wood”(Golding33). The question of how the boy’s use the glasses to start a fire to make some smoke. Ralph is a strong guy he is brave and all he is worried about is getting rescued.Thats why the other kids voted Ralph for village leader.

When Ralph is introduced into the reading, he met Piggy and they both figured out that the plane crashed and that’s why the boys got stranded at the island. Piggy was all about common sense because he was so worried about shelter and survival. If the boys wanted to survive they would need to make a fire and the boys used a conch to set up leadership. “‘Shut up,’ said Ralph absently.he lifted the conch”(Golding15).

This quote shows the order the boys had for the leader that was Piggy’s idea to do that.The boys don’t only have order they have a leader that the boys listen to and they all have their own part in the order. The boys got to keep the order they have so they can survive until they are rescued. There wererescued.There was all kinds of jobs that they had to keep so they can have order. There was one job that a couple of boys had to keep the fire going so there can be smoke so if a ship or airplane was going by the island they would see the smoke from the fire.The boys also needed the fire so they can cook the pigs they killed.The fires were also helpful for the little kids because they were scared of the dark and they needed the fire.

The boys thought the fire would help keep the beast away from them “He said the beastie came in the dark, now he says it was a beastie,fear of unknown”(Golding24).The thought of the beast scared the boys because they were scared of the beast because they thought the beast was a real thing and they were scared to do anything.“Maybe there is a beast … Maybe it’s us” “Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of the true wise friend called piggy”(Golding 72). The boys were thinking they were turning into the beast.

In conclusion, this is about how young boys have to use what they have. The boys have to mature or else they won’t survive so they have to work together. The boys have to use science to survive on the island. The boys need the glasses for the fire and smoke. The Conch symbolises order and leadership between the boys. That’s how most of the boys survived.
