Believing that waiters and waitresses get paid for taking people's orders and serving it. Clearly, this is not to be. It's a matter of how much they can fluff the customer with kindness no matter how nice they can be; in a way, it was more like an acting school for them. To arm themselves with their courtesy mask, customers belong to a special group of people, similar to the animal kingdom. that can be broken down into three different types of people and animals. These different types of customers each require an appropriate kind of service. The better the servers are at delivering the appropriate techniques the better they can be paid by knowing the cheap people, the joker, and the big tipper.

The cheap ones create a stir within the restaurant when they think the place revolves around them, usually older people with price, price, price is all on there mind. From asking for the free hot water with lemon too “can I try a free sample”. Yes, it's understood that they are just trying to save a quick buck by asking for some deals and prices but when it comes down to it. If they have to ask to box a single lemon there might be a problem. They are considered to be the house cats of the restaurants, never leaving their server alone, constantly wanting attention, and could care less about there server even they have eaten and are ready to leave. Sound familiar, these customers can be suppressed by just giving them as they wish but only if it's reasonable, no free food, free drinks, or unnecessary discounts.

If they may be a returning customer try to sit them somewhere else if it’s too much of a hassle. The jokester is the funny guy at the table who has a joke or a witty comment about everything. The server comes over and asks "How was everything? " but with a response of sarcasm "It was terrible," as the plate is spotless. Or even when they to the aside from doing the job at to “our is to ” in a joking manner, old and really doubt the for cheesy jokes like that. The best way to refer to these kinds of people are the rats of the restaurant community. The”rats” bring nothing but a bothersome atmosphere wherever they go, providing nothing but a discomforting lecture, and bring a lifeless conversation to the table. sounding similar right?

The only thing to do is pretend their jokes are funny; try going along with it by making an awful joke, making them feel welcome and get the tip deserving for dealing with a “rat” for an hour. The whale tipper, The big kahuna, The Loch Ness monster, This Moby Dick of tippers is unpredictable in appearance, yet remains always eagerly anticipated by any and all who know its identity. It’s a rarity to have this kind of tipper, because who has actually seen a whale? There always lurking in the shadows of the ocean, but when you do, wow, what a sight to see. $75 tip for providing them with a $12. 99 ravioli, or $145 tip for getting a tea for his wife and spaghetti for his daughters. Only a Few things compare to this moment. Dealing with the Whale tipper is a breeze, all that is needed to be done is give them as much attention as they need. It's good to give them a nice greeting, worry about there needs over other customers first, and refill drinks as much as possible.

All in all, beggars can’t be choosers. From the percenters calculators to the Whale Tippers, all tips are appreciated, Regardless of the category. With an increasing number of new employees at high-end restaurants, new adjustments are needed to be made to know the three main types of customers. Each of these three kinds of customers on its own is not enough to distinguish all of them, but great customers combine all three ingredients and offer a unique experience to their servers.
