Although Sara didn’t see Jane’s demise, she supposedly told officers that the American fighters did surely assault their gathering and that they were pointing their black powder guns high to abstain from hitting the Native Americans and regular folks that were walking by. Burgoyne doesn’t trust Wyandot Panther’s story. He, however, acquits him in any case to save his association with the Wyandot individuals. Gates lectures Burgoyne for allowing American Indian scouts to attack and scalp prisoners and European settlers. He also mentions the violent murder of Jane McCrea to illustrate how this tactic profoundly backfired.
