The Benefits of Volunteering in Relation to Job, Education and Community

Volunteering has been around for ages and is considered good it is seen as desirable by others. It has been made into a requirement by certain educational institutions to complete a certain amount of volunteer hours. Some view this forced requirement as not true volunteering and that it shouldn’t be a needed requirement. The benefits to volunteering for both ends are extraordinary. The benefits of volunteering can be viewed at any point in a person’s life whether it be for a job, scholarships, or one’s community. 

One of the benefits that can be seen for volunteering is in one’s job prospects. In most or all job fields, the addition of volunteer work in one’s resume can increase one’s chances of acquiring the job they have applied, for, they are more desirable. One of the reasons for this is because this shows the employer the passion and compassion one has, making them more attractive to hire. This is mainly true because most company's core beliefs align with these traits. It as well shows employers the wealth of experience and skill one has increased chances of hire. Many if not all companies or businesses are more inclined to hire those with volunteer work listed on their resumes, seeing as they will more greatly benefit the company or business they are hired to work for. 

One of the more educational and financial benefits to volunteering is scholarships, college, and university. Some scholarships will require having some sort of volunteer or community service work is done to qualify. This is done so that the benefactor of the scholarship can be assured that it is given to someone who has a high chance of putting the aid they receive to the best use to succeed in their career path. The receivers of these types of scholarships are often seen by the benefactor as one of the successful people of their generation, as in the ones who will further advance the world. This can be said for 4-year colleges and universities as well. Colleges and universities want to ensure they are teaching the ones with the most likely chance to succeed. 

The last benefit to mention from volunteering is the impact on one’s community and state of mind. Needless to say, volunteering will have a positive impact on one’s community bettering everyone around. This can range from safer neighborhoods to better schools. This as well will help one’s confidence and give them a sense of fulfillment, naturally, this lets one put their best efforts forth. It can be said that one lives a happier, healthier, and fulfilling life. 

The benefits of volunteering are numerous and great. As can be seen, volunteering can affect multiple aspects of one’s life. Helping people acquire jobs to giving one a fulfilling life. Volunteering is a great way to help improve one’s life and everyone should participate in volunteering at some point in their life one way or another.
