World War 2 caused more noteworthy decimation recorded in comparison to all other wars. The war ended the lives of over 17 million brave, fighting men and a greater number of regular people, who passed on because of bombings, hunger, and conscious crusades of mass homicide. One of the first causes of World War II was the disagreement over the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was upset due to the significant loss of land and payment they had to make. From the unfair circumstances, Germany slowly and quietly started to rebuild its country's military and power. So the next cause was German aggression in Europe. The war additionally introduced the nuclear age and was immediately trailed by the breakdown of the wartime collusion between the United States and the Soviet Union and the start of the Cold War.

World War I made the conditions that prompted World War 2. The harmony settlement finishing the war, which stripped the Central Powers of property and arms and expected them to pay reparations, left unending sorrow in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Turkey. The harmony settlement likewise disillusioned two of the victors, Italy and Japan. Italy was upset because the land they had received in their war efforts did not meet their exceptions to grow. Japan's invasion of China was also one of the causes of World War 2, as Japan became angry because their plans to gain control over China did not happen. What’s more, the Great Depression can also be considered a cause of war, because after the First World War Europe's economies were seriously upset in the 1930s.

Opposite from the causes of World War 2, the results changed the American home-front as well. It kicked off the economy, finished depression-period joblessness, migrated Americans in extraordinary numbers, and for all time adjusted the status of ladies, young people, and racial minorities in American life. In 1941, the United States was all the while recuperating from the terrible Great Depression. Unemployment rates were at 25 percent, bankruptcy wasn’t rare, and the way of life for most Americans was 60 percent lower than before the stock market crash in 1929. At the point when the war began, a huge change was implemented. More individuals were expected to produce the essential needs and weapons for the men on the battle grounds. The new occupations were taken by numerous people who had been out of labor for quite a long while. As more men were sent away to battle, ladies were employed to assume control over their situations on the sequential construction systems. “The new jobs were taken by many who had been out of work for several years. As more men were sent away to fight, women were hired to take over their positions on the assembly lines.”

World War 2 impacted the lives of women greatly. Not only did they replace the positions needed for when the men left for war, the number of uniformed women also rose dramatically. The inspiring image of “Rosie the Riveter” gave a positive motive for women to help towards the war. Prior to World War 2, ladies had by and large been disheartened from working outside the home. Presently, they were being urged to assume control over employments that had been customarily considered 'men's work”. Existing organizations changed their lines from shopper merchandise to war materials, and new plants were developed carefully to the formation of items for the war exertion.

Not only did the Second World War help Americans, it also benefited the lives of African Americans. For example, due to the high demand in war materials and jobs to be filled, African men and women took the labor roles. “In particular, war industries created a demand for labor, which many black workers, including black women, were able to fill”. Unfortunately, this did create greater racial segregation. Work places, buses, and other services were segregated. This was one of the main reasons for the Civil Rights movement.

In conclusion, World War 2 formally brought nations out of economic depression by creating jobs for the unemployed, presented women with a greater role to society, and gave African Americans a chance to fight for racial equality.
