It is expected that all nurses in Ontario to follow the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses. Nurses should have experience; training and skills needed to achieve the tasks that they are expected to complete (CNO professional standard, 2017). The nursing practice standards and policies are developed and implemented by the governing body "The College of Nurses Of Ontario (CNO).” The College of Nurses of Ontario" mission is to protect the public's right to quality nursing services by providing leadership to the nursing profession in self-regulation (CNO Professional Standards ,2018).

Both RN's and RPN's have access to all professional standards in which all nurses must participate and it is part of the self-reflective learning component. It is mandatory that each nurse participates in the self-reflective quality assurance learning tool in order to improve further learning practices within their health profession. QA Program helps nurses to involve in activities that support their learning (CNO Quality Assurance program, 2018). There is many ways that nurses can learn to strengthen their weaknesses and to build on their strengths within the nursing profession to move to a positive direction. When you self-reflect this builds on your competence and reflects on how you provide excellent nursing care to your clients. Self-reflection gives you the confidence and promotes positive feedback (CNO continues competence,2018).

During initial contact with the client, the therapeutic nurse-client relationship has developed a relationship between herself and the client regardless in which setting it happens to be in. The formation of the nurse-client relationship relies on the nurse's knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours). The nurse utilizes her knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours while including five components of the nurse client relationship trust, respect, professional intimacy, empathy, and power. (CNO Therapeutic Nurse-Client Relationship,2018).

All nurses responsible for their actions to maintain and improve nursing practice in healthcare sitting. They must be able to respond confidently to planned and unplanned situation effectively. Nurses must create opportunities to improve high quality of services. Each nurse demonstrates their leadership by making sure and encouraging the best possible help to the patient (CNO leadership, 2018). During the time the nurse is caring for the client, it is essential that she respects the client's wishes by maintaining privacy and confidentiality in a strict and professional manner Nurses must maintain confidentiality at all times. This includes physical, psychological, emotional, and social well-being of the client course of providing nursing services (CNO Ethics Practice Standard, 2009).

Any disclosure of the client's health information made known to others can result in a breach of confidentiality. "Clients have the right to confidentiality, and nurses make an implicit promise to maintain confidentiality (CNO Ethics Practice Standard,2009). During initial contact with the client, the therapeutic nurse-client relationship has developed a relationship between the nurses. The formation of the nurse-client relationship relies on the nurse's skills, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours. "At the core of nursing is the therapeutic nurse-client relationship. The nurse establishes and maintains this key relationship by using nursing knowledge, and skills as well as applying caring attitudes and behaviours." (CNO Therapeutic Nurse-Client Relationship, 2018).

The nurse uses and utilizes her knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviours while including five components of the nurse client relationship. "There are five components to the nurse-client relationship: trust, respect, professional intimacy, empathy, and power. Regardless of the context, length of interaction and whether a nurse is the primary or secondary care provider, these components are always present" (CNO Therapeutic Nurse-Client Relationship, 2018). After caring for the client whether the client has deceased, has been discharged from nursing services or has been transferred to another nursing service, it is the nurse's responsibility to maintain strict confidentiality measures in that she does not disclose any information to the public after caring for the client (CNO Confidentiality and Privacy Standard,2018).

In conclusion, The CNO is a governing body for all Registered Nurses in Ontario which sets standards of care to all nurses to adhere to. They continue to maintain that each individual receives the optimum quality of care in which each nurse is responsible to administer based on the Code of Conduct for all Nurses in Ontario.
