Spring break has finally arrived! For Spring Break, my family decided to take a cruise. The cruised sailed to Roatan, Honduras; Belize; Cozumel, Mexico; and Costa Maya, Mexico for the following week. My sister and I were very excited to go on our first cruise. My family and I had arrived at Tampa, Florida port ready to board onto our ship. The ship had an intimidating look that took my breath away. It was bigger than I imagined. As soon as I heard the ship’s horn to board I was excited to start off my week of unforgettable memories.
Finally, we set sail. I was eager to start my first day of my cruise. The first thing me and my family did was find our cabin and unpack our baggage. After we finished unpacking, we went to eat. There was an enormous amount of food on the cruise. Going hungry was not an option. Before we knew it the first day of the cruise was sadly getting to an end.
For the following days the cruise sailed to a four different islands. The ships first stop was Honduras. I overachieved one of my worst fears at Honduras. One of my worst fears is heights. In Honduras I went ziplinnig through the jungle. It was thirty six feet above the ground. I was getting anxious as I would look down waiting for my turn to hook into the zip line. It was scary yet an exciting experience, that I will never forget. Belize was the ship’s next stop. I went snorkeling in Belize. I never realized how gorgeous underwater life was. There were so many colorful fishes. After Belize the next port was Cozumel, Mexico. In Cozumel there was a mall right beside the port. I had a blast shopping at the mall. Everything was very cheap. There were a lot of neat homemade decorations. The cruise’s last stop was Costa Maya, Mexico. Costa Maya was one of my favorite stops. The reason being, I got the chance to swim with dolphins. The instructor taught me hand signals so I could communicate with the dolphin. Also, I learned that dolphins could understand over one hundred human words and phrases. My only issue was I wish the experience had lasted longer.
Who knew that a cruise would be so much fun and exciting? It was the best time of my life. I will never forget my first cruise adventure because it was a very special time. I had lots of fun and made great memories. I got to swim in the ocean, meet new people from other cultures, and discovered parts of the world I’ve never been to. I cannot wait for my next cruise vacation. I hope someday everyone will have the opportunity to go on a cruise and to be able to know the feeling of true relaxation.
